Upcoming Yearly Extension Based On Marriage - Any Changes From Last Year?

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I am making plans for my yearly extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai national (fifth year, not that it matters so much).

I am curious as to whether anything has changed in the way of requirements since 2011.

I could go look at an official website, which likely as not will be out of date anyway.

Or I can ask the knowledgeable and helpful folks here, and have an accurate answer in short order.

Thanks in advance,

Marshall

No official changes although local Immigration Offices will have there own variations.

A few reports of having to take neighbours as witnesses.

Thanks LIte Beer,

It seems they are putting on a few more requirements, although what I have experienced at Korat/Chok Chai/Dan Kwian has not been onerous.

For example, the past two years they have asked for the "photos of living together", whereas the first two extensions they were not interested.

One improvement that I do like is that now they have a helpful 'worksheet' and packet of required forms.

The photos have been a requirement at most offices for years.

I just did mine last week (Pattaya / Jomtien).

I made a list of the Documents (and pictures) needed (Please note, this was for Pattaya / Jomtien Immigration). For the second extension, I did not need a witness.
