Have a drive down to Buddah Mountain if you fancy it, not far and there's also some temples close by.

Quite a nice scenic drive once you get off the main road.

Head south along sukhumavit rd towards Sattahip and around 3 miles after passing Ambassador hotel on your right look for a sign on your left saying Khoa Chee Chan.

Silver Lakes out at Buddah Mountain comes to mind, not been there for a while but weekends its packed with people and cars so must be good. There is also a restaurant and an outdoor Pizza there.

On the back road between Wat Yaan and Silver Lakes is a small 'kind of' petting zoo for the kids.

Day trip to Koh Si Chang is my favourite escape, and one that everyone seems to overlook.

How do you get around over there, taxi? And where to go?

It's not that big an Island guzzi. If your thinking of going hire a bike on the Island if say 2 of you and off you go to dicover.

Yes ChangFai was Right you only have to worry about getting to the Siracha pier port place, get the boat ferry over, their are scooters for rent right when you get off the boat.

then you can ride around the island and explore

I can't remember the name, but I think it's Phayun Beach. Restaurant with tables right on the beach, great place for the kids to play. Go to Ban Chang and turn at the light. Work your way down from there. Maybe somebody more technical can help with the directions? We love it there and the food is great.

Bang Saray is pretty nice also. Tables right on the beach.

Somprason Beach in Ban Amphur is also fun. Lots of umbrellas and chairs to sit on the beach, a playground for the kids. It's also called Post Office beach.

Been to Silverlake a couple of weeks ago and wanted to go to that playground with the family. No way to park there, you have to park at the far side where the restaurant is and then take their tram down to the playground. Too much red tape and rip off for me.

We moved on to the petting zoo nearby (driving back towards Sukhumvit you turn into the first road on the right and follow that road). Great experience and nice coffee had.

That's a nice little coffee shop ( good cakes ), always packed at the weekends tho with the people from BKK.

Ratchaburi has a lot of places like this, it's one of the nicest places i have been in 14 years in Thailand, people very friendly, a refreshing break from the "sharks" in Pattaya and surrounding areas.
