Thailand Remains Major Centre For Human Trafficking

I didn't read this entire article, but it seems to be on point. Russian women are trafficked and turned into sex slaves. From what my wife has told me, i would say Russian women are vulnerable because drunk Russian bastards beat the shit out of them and Russian economy is pretty bleak.

http://www1.american...ted/traffic.htm

The article title is "Trafficking in Russian Women" and is a case study from a pretty reputable sources. Haha, more reputable than thr Kerryk theory of how to pick up women.

If the Russian economy is bleak no one has told the thousands of Russians who are the new majority of home buyers and tourists in Pattaya. Russia has substantially increased their flights to Thailand this year.

This is a Thai forum. Do you really expect anyone to believe Russian women are trafficked to Thailand for sex slaves? Come on fella. Have you ever been to Thailand?

Your article is 13 years old and does not mention anything about Russian women coming to Thailand.

This is a Thai forum and deals with Thai issues. If you want to talk about Russian issues I am sure there is a place to post about it.

I have no idea if the Russian women in Pattaya are trafficked into the sex trade, but there have been innumerable reports of Eastern European women being trafficked into Western Europe. Accepting that some put on a sob story when they are caught by the police in the various brothels, I would imagine there are some who are genuinely entrapped.

If that is the case in Europe I don't know why it would be different in Thailand......anyway, it doesn't matter what I imagine.

My pal was in Moscow, there were hookers in his hotel lobby, he took one to his room, thought she was remarkable, went back to the lobby with her, and was met by a pimp who snarlingly asked did she do a good job. He reckons these girls are terrified.

Did I not read somewhere that there were Russian girls found shot dead on the beach in Pattaya, was that an urban myth? I genuinely don't know, only asking.

It was two Russian tourists that were shot on the beach. You can google it. The ladies working on Walking street are not Russian and the ladies working the coconut bar are not Russian. They are middle aged women from the Ukraine and Uzbekistan and cater primarily to Middle Eastern tourists.

You can get photo documentation by googling Uzbekistan prostitutes Pattaya. There are thousands of Russian women in Pattaya. They shop at the new Central Mall with their families and children and are one of the reasons Pattaya is turning into a family resort.

Yeah, they are terrified. Russian dudes are extremely violent and oppressive. Russian mafia also controls everything in Russia which is why stores like Walmart stayed out for so many years. If they can control McDonalds and etc., you really think they have trouble controling women. In fact, Russian mob dude would never let an opportunity go by if he see a freelancer working somewhere.

Suffice to say I know a lot of Eastern European women. Here are few Russian and Ukranians at my Christmas party. They are so of the hardest working good girls you will ever meet.

There was quite a gang war about 12 years ago between Russian and Thai mobs. The Pattaya police even set up a special crime watch with it's own PO box for tips. Apparently the Estonians were the muscle in Pattaya. One went to jail for life for murder. It seems that the two mobs and police have worked it out because the Eastern European ladies are working in jobs normally reserved for Thai women. I don't know how that works.

Sorry we got into it. I should have mentioned at the outset I did not debate that Eastern European women get trafficked. I only meant they don't get trafficked to Thailand.

No worries, no hard feelings. I am just sympathetic to plight of Eastern European women as I married one and have many friends who escaped from very abussive situations. Ukaraine and Russia women practically speak the same language and I doubt anyone could pick out the Ukrainian women out in my photo. Russian women are very proud and tend show a hard everything is okay surface no matter how bad it is.

I wonder just how many of these Thai girls from the poorer provinces actually know they are entering into employment within the sex industry and go voluntary believing the exaggerate tales that they are going to be earning fortunes and prosperity for themselves and families laying on their backs with the life of ease and plenty?

I believe these are the majority but in many cases when the working conditions do not coincide as to what they expected and the job does not work out, than they become classified as sex slaves.

Some of these women from the underclasses of Thai society see prostitution as an only option for escaping their lives of poverty and no hope, which of course is still extremely sad.

The problem lies with the governments and the general attitudes of the public, who would rather turn the other cheek and pretend that these people do not exist with no concerns for their welfare as they are considered of little value or of no worth to the general so called decent society.

The other aspect is that there always has been and always will be an unlimited amount of women willing and able to work as prostitutes, but the problem is that this line of work attracts the criminal elements and those who seize the opportunities to cash in on them like magnets.

Prostitution is a high-risk occupation and there are high dividends for those that succeed, but at the other end of the spectrum they may also pay a high price for using their bodies as a public convenience.

It is not possible to have they’re cake and eat it. They have no intentions of giving anyone a free ride and should not expect the same in return. None of these criminal gangs is going to take them under their fold, set them up in business for free and give them a free hand to work in their own style. Sooner or later it`s payback time, that’s what happens when they become involved with gangsters.

So should the cavalry really be expected to come to their rescue?

They may appear a little more attractive after I`ve drunk a few cans of Leo.

They say that when girls are good, they are good, but when girls are bad, they are even better.

Your first para does not make sense really...read it again.

As for the second para....they are only sex slaves if held against their will and forced to do things against their will.

They are not slaves if what they believed the job to be is simply a disappointment to them and they stay anyway as they have no options yet.

From the U.S. Department of State.

Trafficking in Persons Interim Assessment 2013

Since the release of the June 2012 Report, 48 trafficking victims from
fishing vessels were identified by government and non-governmental
actors in Thailand; one offender was convicted and sentenced to 14 years
and six months’ imprisonment for forced labor on a fishing vessel
committed in a previous year. The government has not, made
significant efforts to improve victim identification – particularly in
the area of labor trafficking— across civilian and law enforcement
agencies.

After 3 years on the Tier 2 watch list (Thailand received a waiver in 2012 and didn't get downgraded then), there is only 2 possibilities now, a downgrade to Tier 3 (loss of all US aid and a lot of export bans) or upgrade to tier 2, that's not looking good.

Clearly the 'Pheah Vihear' team shouldn't have returned from the Hague, but should have moved on to Washington, D.C. to do another marvelous job on explaining the correct way of looking at things.
