I just returned to pick up my extension of stay (1 year non o wife) after a 6 week stamp for application and was told visa not arrive yet, dont worry we call you. But i am worried as a tea money request was turned down and not sure what to do now. Should i go back and ask for another extension stamp? Also i really have had enough of hua hin immigration and still have a valid 1 year multiple non o in my passport. Will that still be ok to use if i do a border hop now? It is valid until august and to be honest i'd rather not deal with these guys anymore (the tea money thing sickens me) and just get another multiple.

It is noting special that the final decision hasn't been made yet. In that case it is normal that they don't give you another extension, but just tell you to come back at a later date.

You application is registered, as the 30 day extension shows.

My advise is to just wait for the extension to come through. Did they give a date when you should come back to check on the extension? If it was not approved you would know already. It is not unusual for the approvals to come in late and the office not giving a new report back stamp.

The basic 30 day wait does not start until the date your original permit to stay runs out and that is when they start working on the approval and forward it to the regional office (Bangkok for you).

You could make a border run but you would be just be wasting the time you have spent waiting and the cost of the extension.

Thanks for the replies. As it stands the only stamp i have in my passport now is the "application of stay is under consideration" stamp dated to return today. When i reported back this morning I was given no extra date to return stamp just a verbal "visa not arrive yet, many people same problem, no problem we call you when visa arrive".

What i am worried about is if my passport is checked for any reason after today, would i now be in overstay and if so should i go back and ask for another date to be added? The immigration lady did ask me if i was planning to leave thailand and when i said no, replied no problem we call you when it arrive.

You would not be on an overstay because they consider they under consideration stamp as being good for ever the date is just the day to check in. Most offices will give you new stamp and date but others don't.

You could wait a few days and return to the office to check on your extension and ask for a new stamp because of your concerns.

Correct. Happened to me three years ago. Waited for an additional two weeks.
