Residence Permit

Edited by Birdman

A Re-entry Permit is only valid for 1 year - i.e. you must return to Thailand within 1 year of your exit otherwise your Permanent Residence expires.

Not at all sure what you mean by "status with a RP in Thailand" - there is no "Status" definition in the Residence Permit, if you have Permanent Residence permit your Visa status - usually Non-Immigrant - does not change.

In case RP was applied to conduct business or working, what happens, if one stops working and like to stay in T?

Or in case RP was applied to support a Thai wife, what happens in case of divorce?

As far as I know, once issued, a residence permit is valid for life. Immigration is no longer interested in your individual circumstances.

You have already passed their test.

You will only lose it if you leave the country for longer than a year at a time or are convicted of a crime.

You do have to renew the red police book containing your address every five years. There is no 90-day reporting.
