June 30, 201214 yr With kind permission from cdnvic Show Us Your Photos!!! As you all know by now I'm a complete and utter amateur when it comes to photography, you also know I'm a complete and utter idiot too with no sense of self awareness. So I have a cunning plan.............. Let's be seeing some of your photos, in fact, start your own thread and lets be seeing them all !!! I can safely say, and I mean this with the utmost of sincerity, some of the images I have seen on Thaivisa are breathtaking, absolutely superb in every way. It's a mystery to me why this forum is not buzzing every single day, so it's up to us to fix that. Villagefarang has some of the most extraordinary images I have seen, and Kan Win is just a genius. Dave2 is highly active on the Chiang Mai forum, and he has an amazing library of compelling, funny and absurd images. I'm looking forward to seeing many more, and if I have missed any prominent masters of the art, it only proves my point that people interested in the artistry of the lens should gather together. So let's be seeing your photos!!!......... and remember, it's a thread each Let's go !!! ps. Can you title your thread.......... Show Us Your.........Photo!!!........it will draw the eye to the forum when people are viewing the community index. The more the merrier Edited June 30, 201214 yr by theblether
June 30, 201214 yr Author I love wandering around the place taking photos of things that catch my eye, here's some images from Doi Tung Royal Villa........the villa is situated about an hour North of Chiang Rai, and is a superb example of horticultural development, as promoted by HRH Princess Srinagarindra. here's a link that explains the history of the development. http://www.doitung.org/home.php Edited June 30, 201214 yr by theblether
July 1, 201214 yr But it does not make sense if I title the thread 'show us your....photo.' I am asking for someone elses photo then and not mine.....so people might not look at it cos they don't know my outstanding, artistic and extraordinarily good photo will be there. Also...every thread will have the same title...tad confusing. Can you make it less confusing.
July 1, 201214 yr Author Alright, ignore that bit, just go ahead and start your own thread. I did say I was an idiot didn't i????
July 2, 201214 yr Have you looked through the Evaluate My Photo section at the top where you will see many photos from other members. Also some of the threads lower down the page, like Nature and the Alphabet Game. Feel free to add your photos, where appropriate, to keep these threads going.
July 2, 201214 yr Thanks for the kind words theblether and hope you have some success drawing attention to photography in Thailand and on Thai Visa. Not sure TV is optimized for the photography buff as the focus seems to be elsewhere but there is no harm in trying.
July 2, 201214 yr Author Thanks very much vf, I see some outstanding photos, and I noticed a newbie on the Chiang Mai forum wondering if it was okay to post photos. I'm being cunningly selfish with this idea though. I'm hoping that members such as yourself, kw, md, cdnvic and many others pour photos onto your threads, so I can sit back and admire true craftsmen at work, all on the same forum. It'll save me running all over the place looking for them. Cunning. @astral, will do. I'll go have a look and add a few more today.
July 2, 201214 yr Author HRH Princess Srinagarindra spent many years in Switzerland, and this was the inspiration for the stunning Swiss style chalet. The Royal Villa is still in occasional use as a Royal residence, and as such, cameras are forbidden within the villa. The view from the balcony on the other side, of the mountains rolling away to Burma in the distance, are quite superb. Edited July 2, 201214 yr by theblether

July 5, 201214 yr Sorry but no, I am not. Just like you are an Amateur Photographer. Just too modest Kan - pretty much every year at least one of your photos is voted for and put on the Thaivisa Calendar.

August 12, 201213 yr @ekgarinLike your photo's very much but can't have the same resuts as my camera is a sony digital point and shoot. It is very good for what it is intended for but has obvious limitations. In Australia I had an old style SLR camera using a range of lens and filters and had many good results including one that was published in a travel book and a number that people requested colies of.Looks like I will have to bite the bullet and go that way again.
