Getting My Non B From Sri Lanka

Featured Replies

My work permit and current non B are due to expire and I need to leave the country to get a new non B. I was hoping to make a bit of a trip out of it and have been looking into getting it from the Thai consulate in Colombo SriLanka. Has anyone done this before? Theres not a lot of information about doing this in Colombo. The website for the consulate there isnt very informative and I have contacted them twice to try to arrange an appointment to go there for my non B, but two weeks later I have sill had no reply. I have read certain things about other places for example everyone says to avoid Hong Kong but Penang is fairly easy.

If anyone does have any experience of getting their non B from Colombo I would greatly appreciate your advice.

If you are planning to apply for a new One Year Multiple Entry Non Immigrant Category B Visa then KL is your best bet, but you need to renew your work permit before you make your visa run, as KL expect at least 8 months validity on your WP.

Note that the Work Permit is not 'locked' to your visa use before or permitted to stay date, so the renewal can go ahead even if your visa/permission stamsp are nearly up.

Careful with Penang, it's not as easy as it was for the one year Non B.

Here is the current MFA list of requirements for a Non Immigrant Category B Visa: http://www.mfa.go.th...siness-and.html

why do not you may be visit an agent or a lawyer and get an extension of stay instead of getting everything new?!

You may need to provide slightly bigger envelope, but you will not have to take any trips, airfares, hotels, etc etc

Just a thought.

PS. IF you have not received a reply for 2 weeks, it is a good indicator NOT to apply there,
