We Farangs are stupid for not learning the Thai language.I have come to the conclusion that problems highlighted on this forum is due to not being able to speak the language.(never mind lost in translation or culture,we also have a culure)We are simply too lazy or cant be bothered.Opinions will be appreciated..

IMO, the main problem of the people who complain all the time is they are insecure. Their insecurity makes them aggressive. Their aggressivity creates conflict which make them even more insecure ... It's a never ending story

Nah, I blame most on "mai bpen rai".

Well i am very insecure, because i never know what to expect from the idiot driving next to me while talking on the phone, indicating to turn right while turning left

I am even more so insecure when i get a bill from revenue department based on the amount of somtam that officer ate on the day and not the actual figures submitted.

But my biggest insecurity comes from other foreigners who call me insecure

The OP has some point though, it would be fair to try to understand Thai culture and behaviour before starting to criticize.. A bit like reading the book before talking about it.

We've failed to help the Thais appreciate the values that cricket has instilled in us.

Sadly, a thread on TV is not enough, and we should be doing more.

I feel I did my bit, by way of passive encouragement, supporting the Thai ladies team in their game against China in the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, although the extent to which one can eliminate corruption in a country by watching sport on television is clearly limited.

lol, Not at all, i have been attending school for almost 4 years and would not consider my thai to be anywhere near even "good" though some will assess themselves and call it fluent
