Chinese Citizen, Changing Non Imm B To Ed Visa

Featured Replies

Is it possible for a Chinese citizen working in Thailand on a Non Imm B visa with a work permit to change their visa at immigration in Bangkok, or must they leave the country and visit an embassy to do this?

From the information I have gathered the Thai embassy in Laos will not allow Chinese citizens to apply for visas there.

Does anyone have any experience in changing B to ED visas within Thailand, or obtaining an ED Visa in another country. Please bear in mind this is for a Chinese citizen, so rules may be different compared to westerners.

Just try to change your reason for staying at immirgation for reason of working to reason of studying. Often it is allowed, but no guarantees. Just try it.
