Renting A Car In The Usa With Only A Thai Driver'S License

Featured Replies

Has anyone successfully rented a car in the USA with just the new style (English script) Thai Driver's license and a US Passport?

Yup no problem .... I did take an international license with me that I got in Bangkok though. I think I rented from Avis. The international license cost 500 baht and got it at the land and transportation office

Thanks for that quick reply. Did they look at your international one?

Yes, twice - no problem. Check with the rental company in advance as to what they need. They may also require proof of US auto & liability insurance.

I don't think they looked at my Internatioan license and as far as insurance goes I use my Amex credit card and they cover all claims
