Would it give me a permanent visa?

We are going to need a bit more information.

Moved to Visa Forum.

No. Can you not read? There are plenty of posts everyday about requirements for visas and extensions of stay.

Search via Google for Police order 777/2551, that will give you the requirements for an Extension of Stay based on Marriage.

not without show some income or savings, info as per MJCM post as in 40k per month income or 400k in bank for 2 months. Sole name only. Not sure there is such a thing as a permanent visa if ther is never heard of it, apparantly there is some new visa if you invest 10 million here gets some visa deal.

It depends...

are you a woman or a man?

Marriage allows application for non immigrant O visas to visit Thai spouse for up to 90 days per entry or up to 60 days beyond a current stay. It also opens one year extension of stays per police order 777/2551 rules.

The longest period of stay that I am aware of is 1 year at a time, that also requires 90 day reports to immigration (consecutive days staying within the Kingdom), provided you meet the relevant financial and other applicable criteria to the type of visa applied for.

There is a Permanent Residence option which is quite involved and a lengthy process, and again would be subject to meeting the relevant criteria, there is a pinned thread on that topic on the forum.

This is why married people have such a rough go with the Immigration folks.

Not new but it did change from 2 to 10 million a few years back.

Actually it was 3 million and a one year extension. Immigration now only allows entry to the 10 million investment extension of stay as below:

B. In case of an investment of not less than 10 million baht.

(1) The alien has obtained a temporary visa (NON-IM)

(2) Proof of money transfer to Thailand of not less than 10 million

baht.

(3) Proof of investment to purchase or rent for a period not less

than 3 years of unit in a condominium from an agency or

government agency concerned at a price of not less than 10

million baht.

(4) Proof of investment in the form of a fixed deposit of not less

than 10 million baht with a bank registered in Thailand with Thai

shareholders comprising more than 50% of its shareholders.

(5) Proof of investment to purchase government or state enterprise

bonds with a value of not less than 10 million baht or

(6) Proof of combined investments as set out in clauses (3),(4)

Or (5) having a total value of not less than 10 million baht.

It depends...

are you a woman or a man?

... and do you have a moustache?
