Mission Accomplished: Cheap & Quick Health Certificate For Drivers License

Recommended Posts

Just want to confirm several recommendations I've read on this forum

for a medical clinic near Chang Phueak Road. I went today for the

health certificate necessary for a Thai drivers license and it was

cheap and easy. The cost was 20 baht. I actually offered him 30 baht

but he refused the extra 10.

The clinic is off Chang Phueak Road, right across from the south gate

of Rajabaht University. It may be hard to find since the signs are in

Thai, no English, so I've attached a Google Streetview photo of the

clinic. The doctor knew exactly what I needed when I mentioned

drivers license.

This one is well know to the locals. Used it last year and was in an out in under two minutes with the health certificate for 20 baht. Why would you offer more...

Similar experience yesterday at clinic on south side of moat, previously mentioned on TV, 20 Bt ea for wife and me.

My wife loves dealing with old-school 'jai dee' business and professional people and ensures that I 'wai' just right! Very important.

Where exactly might this be? I paid 100 Baht last time, Roomphet (sp). sad.png

But, they did check my blood pressure smile.png and also my weight. sad.png

On south side of moat ring road, heading east, continue past the market and south gate to here > http://goo.gl/maps/9VZi . It's a non-descript yellowish building set back off the road with green thai signage, nothing to suggest it's a clinic! Pass the tyre shop and you've gone too far.

Are these el-cheapo heath certificates the same ones that one is required to submit for a work permit or does that one require more extensive (more expensive) tests?

I wonder if all the complainers about not wearing helmets, get the cheap health certificates or if they go for a 'genuine' medical check up first? Could be a lot of sick people driving out there, who are a danger to themselves and others. wink.png

For my WP I did need a bloodtest for syphilis, did this at McCormick hospital 110 bath.

If you go for the WP, I did ask for two years and that was ok!!!! 6100 bath.

Had one medical for my licence 25 years ago, and never had another one since. They just never asked me for one rolleyes.gif

I wonder how many people who have had blackouts or TIA's and may have other illnesses that would deny them a driving licence back home, get a drivers licence due to the piss poor medical and shouldn't be driving. Then the first thing they say is "get the guys without helmets its disgraceful"........You know who you are.
