Hi. I was hoping someone might be able to help me. I have searched the forum but I cant find anything that exactly fits my needs.

Basically, I have a non b visa (single entry) which will expire on August 8th. I just recently got my work permit. This will expire on May 5th 2013. What exactly do I need to do to get an extension of stay of my non b visa. What documents should i bring with me to immigration? I should also add i work for a Language school (Thai owned) in Phuket. I would ask my boss but she normally gets her visa agent to handle all this but he is proving to be expensive and I was hoping i could handle this on my own saving a few baht.

the list is big and includes tax payments for you and the staff at the Language centre, plus registration documents of the school.

I am sure someone will come along with the list in a minute, be prepared to have a wheel barrow with you for all the paperwork.

Extension of Thai Business Visa

The Thai "B" or Business Visa can be extended to a one year visa in country as follows.

The extension of the visa is normally based on employment and as such there are certain regulations governing the company who is employing you.

These are the regulations for the extension of the "B" Business Visa:

1. The business must be registered in Thailand.

2. The company must be capitalized to at least Baht 2 Million while operating fund must be at least Baht 1 Million.

3. The company must have a ration of at least 4 : 1 - Four Thais for every foreigner.

4. You must earn at least in accordance with the level specified for each nationality by the Labour Department.

Duration of the Extension

- One year at a time.

Documents required for the extension:

1. Application form (T.M. 7 )

2. Passport or document used in lien of passport and its copies .

3. The applicants 4 x 6 cm. photograph .

4. Extension fee Baht 1,900.-

5. The company letters certifying as follows ;

- Nature of business

- Reason or necessity in employing the applicant his / her position, salary and education background.

- Number of Thai and foreign employees.

6. Copies of work permit or receipt of work permit application.

7. Company's annual balance sheets.

8. The juristic persons Annual Income Tax Declaration Form (Form No.50) of the latest year and its receipt of payment.

9. Thai employees Monthly Income Tax Declaration Form (Form No.1 ) of the latest month and its receipt of payment.

10. The applicants Annual Income Tax Declaration Form (Form No.91) of the latest year and its receipt of payment.

11. The official letter that certify the registration of such juristic person.

12. Business Registration or Business License.

13. Value Added Tax Registration and list of share holders.

14. A map that indicate location of the Company.

15. For those who operate export business, the documentary evidence clarifying its export activities is needed.

16. For those who operate tourism business, the documentary evidence clarifying its total number of tourist that brought in by the company is needed.

N.B. In case of necessity , documents No.7 , 8 , 9 , and 10 can be substituted by the company letters stating its reason.

And then there are the papers from the Education Office in Bangkok, showing that you have a teachers licence or waiver of such. Refused extension on Non B last year, school would not provide this document.

New School

Refused Non B in Vientian last week, one document missing something suppose to come from the Education Office in Kalasin. The document was provided but I was told that it was incorrect I assume while waiting for waiver from Bangkok this document from local education office necessary.

And the list of paperwork goes on.

Went to Phuket immigration this morning. I decided to go with visa agent that works for my boss as he put together the paperwork for free. I cant tell you what paperwork i had as most of it was in Thai, but there was maybe 7 pages in total of official looking paper, then the copy of my passport and work permit. I had brought copies of degree and transcript, police clearance from home country, map of school location etc but this was given back to me and I was told I didn't need it.

I arrived at 8.30am just as the doors were opening. I have never been to Phuket Immigration before but it seemed fairly straightforward. Went straight up to the desk for extension of stay, handed the officer my paperwork and sat there and waited. He looked through it, separated everything into little piles etc....asked for 1900 baht......did some stamping.....told me to wait over in the small waiting area while the information was entered into the computer....5 minutes later heard my name being called out....passport handed back to me, extension of stay till Aug 2013 in it..................all good. total time in Phuket Immigration 15 minutes.......very efficient, friendly and hassle free......and no one was looking for a tip either......

more than likely........but i will say that he has been very good....spot on with everything....he got well paid but i have no issue at consulates, labour, or immigration. He even brought me to pick up my work permit.
