PATTAYA:--The mother of a 10 year old boy reported an alleged assault on her son by a teacher at the Sisuwit School in Banglamung.

Khun Manirat aged 37 took her son to Banglamung Police Station on Wednesday to report the incident and explained that the teacher, Khun Nipat allegedly slapped the boy across the face and the ear during school-time. Photographic evidence of the reported injuries and a medical certificate from Banglamung Hospital were presented to Police who questioned the teacher over the allegations.

He claimed not to have struck the child and because of the two conflicting stories and despite the evidence presented the law permitted them to impose a small fine of 100 Baht which the teacher accepted.

A Farang teacher would probably had to pay 100.000 baht , not 100. But farang teachers never hit kids, do they....

If a farang teacher...nationwide crackdown on teachers, 30 million in fines, a life sentence and the military mobilised to escort the culprit to the airport when they deported him or her after serving 15 years...rolleyes.gif

Huh.. 100thb fine for hitting a child. Surely the hospital charges cost more than that.

I think it is 30 Baht for a Thai.

He probably deserved a smack, might keep him on the straight and narrow for a time.

Well then the teacher should have been made to pay that 30thb as well and not just 100thb into the hands of the cops. Not to even mention the time lost sitting at the hospital waiting to be examined and the time wasted at the police station to file a report.....

Well you are just assuming she took him to the local government hospital and not to a clinic or otherwise. Of course at the local government hospital you will wait several hours to be seen.

No question the teacher got off great. 100thb to the cops.. cheapest date ever. Next time he knows if he wants to smack around some students that 100thb is all it will cost him. Wonder how much for him to sexually assault his students? 250thb? Or do you think that will be cheaper?
