Abhisit review 'not linked to libel case'

BANGKOK: -- Red-shirt co-leader Jatuporn Promphan told a court yesterday the Defence Ministry move to review former premier Abhisit Vejjajiva's alleged evasion of conscription into the army had nothing to do with the defamation lawsuit lodged against him by the opposition leader.

Abhisit was accused by Jatuporn of evading conscription via use of a falsified document to get a teaching job at Chulachomklao Military Academy. The former Pheu Thai MP told the court if Abhisit had nothing to hide, he should clarify the matter to the ministry.

There is no love lost either between the Democrat leader's lawyer, who cross-examined Jatuporn yesterday. At one point the lawyer complained in front of the judges: "In over three decades of my profession, I've never met such a person."

Jatuporn also criticised the plaintiff lawyer and told him to stop touching him whenever he wants to question him.

At one point, the lawyer asked who would be so stupid as to forge documents twice as Jatuporn has alleged Abhisit did. The red-shirt leader replied saying: "Yeah, I thought so too, somebody must either be stupid or foolish."

"In over 3 decades of my profession I have never met such a person"

There's an understatement.

Most beings that disprove Darwin's theory of evolution are referred to as "throwbacks". The same term was used by my uncle, a great fisherman, when he landed something hideous like a puffer fish or conger eel. And once again I find the term quite apt for someone whose value chain reaches a peak at thuggery.

Nice!!!, I like the comparison to a puffer fish.

Before they got to be throwbacks, ours got a quick smack over the head with the yabby pump. I'd recommend the same for Jatuporn, but I think it happened (or something similar) years ago.

He has already been told that this accusation was raised over 12 years ago to try and discredit AV, the attempt failed then, and no new evidence of any wrongdoing has been found, so why raise it again.

Confession is good for the soul.

Did not happen hard enough unfortunately for mankind.

Jutuporn is acting out the classic cornered animal scenario and lashing out out at all and sundry in his attempts to save his own skin and prolong the fight in the hope of the tenacity of the hunter ( in this case the legal system) weakening.

Jutuporn wanted to play with the big boys and tried to be a big boy, he has been a spectacular failure the classic buffoon has manifested itself in Jutuporn.

Remember every action has a consequence, now Jutaporn is starting to realize that those consequences are going to hit him hard, when push comes to shove Jutuporn will vanish into well deserved obscurity.

I feel sorry for the poor mouse, but unfortunately not Jatuporn. smile.png

Jatuporn better get used to being touched where he is going. With a mouth like his hooked up to a dum dum machine he is going to get touched a lot and I don't think he will enjoy it. Unfortunately the dum dum machine will not connect the touching to the mouth and will keep it going. A lose lose situation.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

The lawyer probably had to touch him to yank Jatuporn out of cloud cuckoo land.
