the guy on the left looks particularly interested in one object.

Wonder if this will cause the price of the ones being sold openly on silom road everyday at lunch time (maybe they are sold all day but I only see them at lunch) to go up in price?

"How much for vibrating rubber lifelike throat massager"

reply "330 baht , used to be 299 but with rainy season here, a lot of people have sore throats"

In a better Thailand, there would be a shop like this at Siam Paragon:

http://www.goodvibes.com/main.jhtml

It is also could be a huge industry for Thailand, producing better sex toys. The thing is because sex toys are underground in Thailand, the QUALITY of what is on offer is very, very low.

I guess it would take major cajones for a Thai politician to advocate rethinking these archaic anti-sex toy laws. So it won't happen. A bit pitiful really.

That's not going to happen. Their culture is more important.

What a preposterous contradiction. A raid such as this in the sex capital of the world. So the real issue must be that the proper payoffs weren't made by the four Chinese Thais operating this business plus the ones not caught yet. How is it that the newspaper can make this a top story and expect it to be taken seriously?

This annoys me about Thailand, have to say. Appalled at sex toys, yet perfectly ok to pop into a brothel, pick out a girl with a number on her, and bonk her for a price.

Sex toys are often part of spicing up a couples sex life, not just for fun solo. How dare you want to have some fun with your gf/bf/wife/husband!! Immoral! disgusting! Instead, keep your relationship and wife pure...do the job on a weekly basis, clean and quick, and think of Thailand..and then go out and spice up your sex life with a prostitute..(and maybe bring your gf or wife back a gift of std from it)... blink.png

I think I know that girl on the right.

That is one great new! It shows what the priorities are! Good if they ca bust some fake drugs sellers, but I seriously doubt that it was the primary target.

I would think that some one forgot a monthly fee payment, and was the victim of a "legal" retaliation!

Does the doll need a work-permit, I wonder ? rolleyes.gif

If the police caught anyone in their Quality-Control Department, presumably they were hardened criminals ? w00t.gif

And when will this lovely country grow up ? coffee1.gif

I Love the way they have narrowed it down to CHINESE- Thai and not Thai. Thais would never be involved in the sex industry it is totally against thier culture.

Personally I do not see a problem with people owning sex toys as they are used in complete privacy. You do not see your 60 yr old farang sucking the face of his 18 yr old Thai blow up doll in public.

What next, are we going to read a story about raids across Thailand where farangs and Chinese-Thais are arrested for jerking off in thier bathrooms? Police posing with boxes of tissues on the table which were siezed in evidence.

Thailands world wide reputation hasn't been built on people using vibrators, it has been built on prostitution. Wouldn't the resources be used more effectively on clamping down on the brothels which operate under the guise of bars. i don't just mean those operated by farang pimps because Thais are involved in the industry as well.

Maybe a work permit offence.

Major cojones, or a really good quality strap on...

But I don't think cajones is a Thai name...

Terrible. Unbelievable.

Sex toys in Thailand. Have you ever read such shocking news?

I have often wondered why the need for "sex toys' in Thailand when there are so many available attractive women around. That may sound awful un-PC, but I believe these toys they seized should be distributed to more needy countries like the U.K., U.S.A., where the beauties are scarcer. whistling.gif

Now that really would depend on whether the toys were for the use of men or women, wouldn'tit!

Police bust biggest Thai aphrodisiac ring; confiscate sex toys, drugs of Bt100 mln

image_20120730171607D762B7C8-F937-9881-B625D4D23E41F8CC.jpg

BANGKOK, July 30 – Members of Thailand's largest ring of aphrodisiacs and sex toys were apprehended in the capital with seized goods worth over Bt100 million, the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) chief said Monday.

DSI Director-General Tharit Pengdit and Pol Lt-Col Chinnachot Daengsurisri, commander of the Intellectual Property Crime Bureau, held a press conference today about the arrest of 13 warehouses storing and selling sex-stimulants and related items to retailers all over Bangkok.

The investigation began in Yaowaraj, Bangkok’s China Town. Arrests were made in 13 locations on Saturday.

The items found included some 325,000 sex performance pills and other stimulants, and 9,365 pieces of pornographic items and sex toys.

Mr Tharit said the arrests are believed to impact the illicit sexual goods business.

He noted the pills and stimulants seized were not only for boosting sexual desire but also those used to put in women's drinks by ill-intentioned men for the ladies' uncontrollable sexual needs. The stimulants came in various forms such as coffee, colourless and odourless drops, and Spanish Fly.

The DSI chief said such items were highly dangerous to society. The Department of Special Investigation will investigate and further prosecute the mastermind of the aphrodisiac ring. (MCOT online news)

13 warehouses full, seems like there are a lot of people in need out there !

Maybe those most in need were the little stalls on Sukhumvit 5m next to the tourist police. I did'nt notice they ran out of stock...
