A man was shot dead and another injured Sunday morning

BANGKOK: -- A man was killed and another injured in a shooting on Ratchadapisek Road reportedly caused by illegal drug transaction on Sunday morning.

Wirat Diloksi, 37, was killed and Wisan Suriwong, also 37, wounded when a gunman on a motorcycle fired at their pickup truck near Ratchadaphisek Soi 19.

The incident took place Sunday morning when Wisan drove the pickup truck with Wirat as a passenger after they left a local nightclub.

An initial investigation found that a group of six female and five male nightclub goers, including Wirat, left a nightclub in two vehicles.

When the pickup truck carrying Wirat and Wisan was passing the crime scene, a gunman on motorcycle without a licence plate which followed them reportedly from the nightclub shot at the victims around four times before fleeing.

Meanwhile, the cause of the shooting was presumed to be related to an illegal drug transaction in the nightclub. Police said that the victim may have asked a drug-selling syndicate to sell him the illegal drug and was turned down. The drug deal led to brawl at the nightclub.

Police officers are speeding up checking of closed-circuit television cameras and gathering related evidence in order to hunt down the gunman.

turned down drug client doesn't kill a dealer, but buys from their competitor just the next table.

the killing was from the competitors, that includes cops, whose territory was stepped in. Looks, like cops would like to steer this investigation into a wrong direction. They do it for a purpose of not finding a killer

You can buy drugs legally in Bangkok and many other cities. For example, Starbucks is a big dealer of caffeine and this is where many addicts flock. Completely legal. And how about Boots, Watsons, etc. Loads of legal drugs being sold there. Add in the 1000s of bars and shops selling alcohol and you can see that legal drug deals happen every minute of the day in Bangkok.

So yes, there is a difference between legal and illegal drug deals.
