DickFarang
Great last name for a murderer: "De Schutter" "The Shooter" “The Archer” is a more accurate translation.
stevenl
Great last name for a murderer: "De Schutter" "The Shooter" “The Archer” is a more accurate translation. And why would that be? Schutter means shooter, could be rifle, archery, anything. But with 'schutter' I think most people would think of a gun or rifle, so shooter would IMO be more correct than 'archer'.Don't know though how he alledgedly killed his wife, was that with an arrow? But I think this is going a bit off topic.
DickFarang
If you want to escape the law, come to miracle Thailand! Should be a TAT slogan! Apparently not, there have been quite a few of these arrests lately. Strange though , that these types are able to live in Thailand ,quite ostentatiously and often for long periods , until Foreign authories request their arrest! It's not as if the Thai authorities are actively and independently rooting out these criminals , which is why so many find these parts so accomodating ! He probably did nothing illegal in Thailand, except perhaps visa running.

As to his wife/girlfriend/partner, she disappeared without leaving a trace but a Belgian policeman made an allusion that she was fed to the fishes. “La mer est grande.” (French for “The sea is big.”) on this website: http://www.dhnet.be/infos/faits-divers/article/226972/le-policier-d-anvers-arrete.html
