East Pattaya drug dealing suspects caught by Banglamung Police

PATTAYA:--Two suspected drug dealers were caught during an undercover Police drug sting in East Pattaya on Monday.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Supashat, Deputy Chief of Banglamung Police led a press conference to announce the arrest of Khun Tongchai aged 41 who was caught with drugs at the Jan Sai Tong Bungalow in Soi Kao Noi, East of Pattaya. An undercover officer was able to purchase 1g of Crystal Methamphetamine from the suspect who was also carrying electronic weighing scales and a further 8.5g of the drug, concealed on his person.

Police then escorted the suspect to his house where two motorbikes and 92,000 Baht in cash were seized. Police then used the first suspect to contact his supplier, Khun Tanatit known as Mr. Ball to his friends. Another undercover operation was organized at the car park of the Tesco-Lotus Store in Central Pattaya. The suspect was aware that Police were there and escaped before any transaction could take place. He was eventually caught on the Sukhumvit Road outside the Pattaya Floating Market with 13.4g of the drug.

The suspect was aware that Police were there and escaped before any transaction could take place.

This seems all too common. Are the police just standing there in uniform waiting for the perp to show up? Do they not understand the concept of undercover?
