A recent, 36 country poll found that Thai men are the most unfaithful on the planet. More or less substantiating the claims that many Thai women make. What I found interesting in the poll was that Thai women rank number 2 behind Nigeria for being equally unfaithful to their spouses.

STUDY IDENTIFIES COUNTRY WITH THE MOST UNFAITHFUL WOMEN

A survey conducted by condom manufacturer Durex has identified Nigeria as the country with the most unfaithful women. A whopping 62% of survey respondents in Nigeria admitted to cheating on their partners.

Thailand came in second with 59%, Malaysia came in third with 39% while Russia came in fourth with 33% of Russian women admitting to extramarital affairs.

Thailand leads the charts with 54% of men admitting to betraying their partners. South Korea came in second with 34% of the male respondents admitting to an affair.

And I don't think this survey is going to be representative, Thais who take an online survey from a condom maker are gonna be a bit different than most. I can see them getting a more representative sample in the US or UK but I don't think they will with this method here. Sample size and type of person responding are going to be completely different.

Don't doubt that thai people cheat a lot in general but i wouldn't call this article a trustworthy source.

This is something that really doesn’t surprise me.

In this day and age, it is advisable not to become involved with Thai women or treat with extreme caution.

Why? There are a million reasons and these statistics is one of them.

Thailand has become extremely commercialised, and the society as a whole much more affluent than it used to be and the women can be a lot more independent in liberal minded Thailand, which where permissiveness is concerned have become too liberal and materialistic.

Thai attitudes towards relationships have changed dramatically over the years; relationships according to the women are based more upon business and what’s in it for them rather than love and passion. No longer are Thai women the loyal, subservient little Thai princesses as most often they are portrayed in the West and the Western guys are led to believe.

I have a few single male friends back in the States and in the UK who have asked me if I could find a nice Thai girl for them. I said; to be honest many of these women are best avoided, if you don`t want problems.

No, Thai women were never "subservient little princesses" in the normal Thai family....at least as long as I've been coming to Thailand...and I first came to Thailand in 1978.

Now, sometimes, in a Thai family the wife will let her husband THINK he rules the house....more fool him if he really believes that.

But even in 1978...observing a Thai-Chinese familythat ran the guesthouse where i then stayed....it was clear that the wife (and often the oldest woman...the grandmother in that Thai-Chinese family was the real boss).

They did this by convincing the nmales that the male was the supposed boss....and there were "unimportant" things involved in running the day-to-day running of the household...and the males "needn't be bothered" becoming involved in these unimportant things.

These three "unimportant Things" were Religion (Buddhisim), raising children and the children's schooling, and day-to-day household expenses and activities.

The men were told these things were unimportant...and therefore they didn't need to worry about them....let the women take care of such "trivial matters".

The men believed that...and therefore the women usually ran the house....and by extension the lives of the men who lived in that house and that family.

The fact that the men "couldn't be bothered" with such "unimportant" matters gave the women virtually complete rule over the house and family.

Probably it was that way for years...and it still is true today in most Thai househoulds....no matter what the Thai men think, the women hold the actual power.

No wonder all the Thai girls want good Farlang.
