Hi guys I'll try and keep it straight forward:

-I'm coming to the end of my triple entry tourist visa, obtained at the UK consulate (I am British). I will have spent around 7 months in total in Thailand when I leave (I will have used two extensions, obviously not stayed for the full extra month for either tho).

-Main question: I would like to obtain another one! Is this possible? Obviously, I will leave Thailand - I think I will go back to the UK for a week or two, and reapply there.

-Are they likely to give me another one? If not, would I have a better chance applying for a double or a single?

-I hear some consulates are more lenient than others - presumably applying at home in the UK would be my best bet?

- Is there a limit to how many days per year I can spend in Thailand on a tourist visa, or a period I need to wait before applying for another, etc?

and finally, if I cant get one - as a last resort, I'd consider enrolling in a Thai language school to learn Thai and get a student visa.. would this be an alternative?

Thankyou very much for your thoughts!

You should have no problem getting a new triple entry in the UK. I suggest you use one of the honorary consulates.

You will not get a triple entry a any nearby consulate and might only get a single entry.

There is no limit on the amount of time spent on a tourist visa.

An ED visa and extension would be better than tourist visa plus no border runs needed.

Vientiane and Savannakeht are good for double entries, re the Casino at Savannakeht say triple entries @ 3,000 baht, lot closer that going to UK

Thanks alot for the info guys.

As I'm heading back to the UK to catch up with family anyway, it sounds like getting it done at the consulate there would be the best bet.

On the off-chance they don't give me one, would I still get my 30-days-on-arrival if I flew back to BKK? If that happened I'd be happy to then jet off and see more of Asia, but I'd need to at least know it's safe to book my flight and get let into in BKK.

As long as you have a return ticket you can enter BKK on a visa on arrival (30 days)

Without a return ticket you need a visa stamped in your passport, otherwise you wont be allowed

to board the plane at Heathrow.
