Chaeng Wattana...No Food Or Drinks Inside Immigration Area

Featured Replies

whistling.gif See my previous post about Chaeng Wattana immigration closed 13 August.

Also on display today 7 August 2012:

"No food or dinks allowed inside immigration area"

I presume they are talking about snacks and coffee/tea in plastic cups or paper cups?

Anyhow, I haven't seen this notice before.

Didn't see any obvious evidence of this rule being enforced.....but the sign was clearly displayed...so it's possible anyone waiting could be told to get rid of their food/drink items or leave immigration.

Just a warning to the wise.

I believe that has been true since move to Chiang Watanna. I have definitely seen it displayed there for a long time.

Yet on the ground floor near the copy places are there not cafeteria/food places?

There are many eating places on the ground floor - that is not immigration - it is immigration area that you are not allowed to eat.

When I used to extended at Khon Kaen immi last year there was a bloke outside sitting in the plastic chairs chugging on a bottle of Leo with a couple of empties next to him. Pure unadulterated scuzz.

Officially you are not allowed to bring any food or drink into any government building.

But normally this is not really enforced.

Yes, about 200 or so...

Plenty of places to snack if you need it.

Nothing allowed past reception.

My wife was instructed to lose her coffee before entering last week.
