I've been living in Pattaya for 13months on a Non Immigrant O Multiple entry visa which I obtained from the UK. The visa is now expired and I'm on my last stamp which finishes on Sept 15th.

I'm married to I thai but have'nt had the 400k available long enough to apply for a Marriage visa.

Please could someone advise me on my options, Am I able to apply for another Non Imm O mulitple at the Jomtien Immigration? If not what other options are available to me.

Someone told me I can go to Phenom Phen and get enother Non Immigrant O multiple, is this correct?

You wouldn't be applying for a marriage visa, you would be applying for a one year "Extension of Stay". Until the funds are in place, you can apply for a 60 day extension, or go to Savanakhet, Laos and apply for another multi-entry "O" Visa.

If your aiming to apply for an extension of stay based on marriage then you need the 400k to be in your bank for 2months

before your application, therefore you'll only need a Non Imm O Single entry visa (not a multi entry).

I read on this forum that the Kuala Lumpar Thai Consulate offers this visa if your married to a Thai and have proof of at least 100k Baht in a Thai bank or the equivalent amount in a foreign bank.

Either way is possible, but the 60-day extension suggested by beechguy seems more convenient and less expensive. This 60-day extension is as per clause 2.24 of Police Order 777/2551 and Immigration Bureau Order 305/2551

2.24 In the case of an alien

visiting a Thai spouse or child:

Permission

will be granted for a period of not more than 60 days at a time

(1) Proof of relationship.

(2) In the case of a spouse, their marital relationship shall be de

jure (legitimate) and de facto.

What do I need to get the 60 day extension and where do I go to do this? (jomtien?)

Also, for the 1 year extension based on marriage what do I need and where do I go for this?

Would an investment in the thai stock market be classed as the funds reaquired or does it need to be cash in an account?

Stock options will not be considered. It is either money in the bank or income.

If it is more then 10 million it might be considered as investment.

The frinancial requirements for the 1 year marriage extenson are:

1. A sum equivalent to 400K Thai baht in a Thai bank account for at least a period of two months (which they usually intepret as 60 days = 2 months)...OR

2. A monthly income of 40K baht equivalent.....OR

3. (I'm not postive on this one) A combination of the two above with a total of 400K Baht.

If you can show that 40K monthly income you may be able to get a income statement or certification from your country's embessy...which immigration usually accpts as proof of income.

You will need proof of marriage to a Thai national....so best to go see your local immigration office....and get a list of exactly what you need from them.

You can apply within 30 days of the expiration of your visa (permited to stay period).

But again ... go to your local immigration and ask them.

P.S. Usually they want bank accounts where you are free to withdraw funds on request...so that's why such accounts as stock market accounts or term accounts are usually not allowed,...because ypu normally can't simply withdraw your funds without a waiting period.

Combination method only allowed for retirement extension , not for marriage.

Have your wife do a little investigating for you as well and get started. Although it is only one time a year it is always a drawn out process. I have had to have original documents redone, new photos of the wife and I in our house, the interview process with the same person as last year asking the exact same questions etc...

So take a deep breath, Jai Yen Yen. You are in for a fun filled month or so but once it is done you do not have to worry about it for another year. Best to start lining up a couple of witnesses as well.

All money, 40,000/month (average), or 400,000 in an account has to be verifiable. Talk to your bank as well, mine was very helpful in these matters (but that was my experience).

My permitted stay period is until 15th September, do I have to apply for the 60day extension before 15th of August or can I leave it later?

After the 60day extension is up can I apply for the 1 year extension?

You can apply on any date after 15 august, 15th Sept the latest. The extension starts from the day your curent permisison to stay ends.

After the 60 day extension you can apply for the 1 year extesion of stay.

-Mariage Certificate from England

-Copies of her Passport

-Copies of her ID card

-Some copy of Home registra

-Copy of her Birth Certificate.

None of them are signed by her, thier just straight copies is this OK?

I might just pay Siam Legal to get a Multiple Entry Non O visa. Its 21,000baht. I think by the time I go to Phemom Phen and stay there 3-4 days I will most probably end up paying this anyway.

So what would be the best route to go down?

For a Marriage Extension you have to be living together as Husband and Wife.

Your Wife has to go with you to Immigration and fill a few forms in.

If wife has left, you do not qualify for extension of stay or for issue of a non immigrant O visa. No visa firm can legally obtain such a visa for you - you have to obtain and meet the requirements yourself - all they can do is point the way. It appears you can not do this so a 2 entry tourist visa from Vientiane might be best choice for now and if getting employment change to non immigrant B then or perhaps study with an ED visa.

Can I get a tourist visa inside thailand at all?

I'm asumming if my wife still lives with me, I'm good for the Marriage extension?

You cannot get a tourist visa in Thailand, only from a Thai consulate, and these are all outside Thailand.

If you did not arrive in Thailand with a non-immigrant visa, you can apply at your local immigration office for a change of visa to non-immigrant category O and subsequently apply for a one-year extension for the reason of living with your Thai wife. Take your wife along to the immigration office with her ID card and house registration book and photocopies of both, plus copies of your passport, departure card, marriage certificate, and two passport photos.

Please can someone tell me which tourist visa allows me to stay the longest? and how it works.

Would I just go to Laos and turn up at the embassy/consulate? or make an appointment? how long would I need to stay in Loas?

Also, is there any companies in pattaya that offer a full package (hotel, transport, visa etc)

You are going around in circles - it appears you likely do not qualify for any non immigrant O visa issue (which normally requires current copy of her ID card and home register) so you have asked at page two about tourist visas.

You may well be able to obtain a two entry tourist visa from Vientiane which will allow stay of 60 days plus extension of almost 30 days before expiration of visa exit/entry to obtain second 60 days plus 30 days extension. You may be able to obtain again or single entry or change to another type of entry (work/education or reconcile marriage).
