August 13, 201213 yr First question is where the hell in Thailand are you? This will help answer your questions. You need to do the colour blind test, reaction test and also the distance appreciation test. You need a medical certificate, proof that you are allowed to stay in Thailand, drivers license and proof of address Costs are around 660baht if I remember per license, there are two separate ones required for car and bike, photo taken by the issuer at the time. Information is on here if you search correctly.
August 13, 201213 yr Use the valid international driving license to apply. UK license would only work with verified translation. Medical is a joke, find some "clinic" (licensed doctor with "stamp") and show your passport. Proof of address is probably the highest hurdle: had to go to Immigration for that. Where to go: your nearest Department of Land Transport (DLT) depends on your place of residence. For me it was also possible to do in the provincial capital (Khon Kaen), as in the Amphoe (county) they are a bit "uninformed" in dealing with foreigners. Edited August 13, 201213 yr by KhunBENQ
August 13, 201213 yr Pinned thread here - http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/27462-applying-for-1-5-year-thai-driving-licences/ As the other posters said depends which office you go to. Lots of other separate posts in both the motor forum and individual forums Cost of 1 year licence (which you have to get first) is only a couple of hundred max for each - sorry cannot remember exactly.
