Hi, Something i havent given much thought to (till now). A friend four doors down. retired at 65 and moved

here to thailand. He had been coming here for quite a while and had a thai wife which is why he bought the house. He paid cash for the house and used the married visa option and his pension as he had no savings ( He told me he spent his money travelling the world ) Well to cut a long story short ,he started to loose weight and was only eating once a day and drinking a great deal. I asked him why was he not going to the doc to get checked up and he said too expensive. Yesterday he died aged 69. Now the reason i am writeing this, I am trying to help his wife as she doesent have a clue what to do And i now find i dont have much idea either. The body was taken away i presume for autopsy and will be returned for funeral. So in the meantime i went online to UK pensions looking for advice on what was required to be done but found nothing of help .AS my hearing is not good i sent an Email to the helpline asking what needed to be done

and asking if there were any forms needing to be filled in that i could download. I got an instant reply which said WE HAVE RECIEVED YOUR E MAIL AND WILL ENDEVER TO REPLY WITHIN 10 DAYS. has anyone been in this situation any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Pete....

Sounds like he was ill and he knew it already. Wanted to go out with a bang and enjoy himself. Hope his last days were good.

Its very kind of you to help out his wife. as said before contact the embassy and they should be able to help.

good to see there are still people with good hearts around. thumbsup.gif
