Newborn Baby In Bangok..What'S Next?

Featured Replies

Hello,

We just have our newborn baby girl .. 3.6kg .. everybody is excited!

I would like to know where I can translate my passport to Thai (certified one) around Sukhumvit/Asoke?

The hospital required my passport to be translated in Thai for paperwork tomorrow.

Also, what are the options for VISA? Which one I can get? My name will appears in the child paperwork with the

mother one.

Thanks in advance

Congtrates on the Baby,

the hospital will do all the paperwork if your wife signs the documents.they will handle the birth cirtificate and the documents for your name to be on the paperwork as the father. if your not married yet make sure the baby has your last name.

Cheers

Are you talking about a visa for you or for the child? The child doesn't need a visa, even if the child is not Thai.

I presume the mother is Thai, so the child is Thai.

An important factor is if you are marreid to the mother or not. That determines your legal staus regarding the child and the possibility of getting a visa if not married.

For translation you can use an agency near the embassies. If you are marreid to the mother or have a work eprmit, have them copy the name from that so you don't walk arround with different names and possible confusion and problems resulting from that.

congrats mate

I can tell you exactly what comes next...

sleepless nights, plenty of them!!

enjoy

Good luck and enjoy all the moments with her, she's only a baby once, spend as much time as you can with her, you'll never get the time back.
