pokoal2000
Just one question. Do you need to earn 40 000 baht per month yourself or could you wife earning be taken in consideration to apply for a marriage visa?
Mario2008
You need to earn it yourself, your wife's income is not taken into consideration. Income can be from abroad and can include income from interest, renting of property etc.

beano2274
There is no such thing as a Marriage Visa. I checked out your age, could you not apply for a Retirement Visa, might be better for you.
lopburi3
A non immigrant O visa is issued for those married to a Thai and this may require a show of funds (especially a multi entry in the area of Thailand) but the 40k income or bank deposit of 400k for two months is for one year extensions of stay issued by immigration. ubonjoe
But not with 40,000 baht income. 800K baht in bank or monthly 65K income needed for retirement.
beano2274
The OP has been on about marriage visa, I think an alternative could be the retirement way, also where is the OP?
pokoal2000
No chance of retirement visa - not enough money, maybe can manage to keep 400 000 in the bank. Thank you for your reply
pokoal2000
If I am earning 30 000 per months, do I still need to have 400 000 in the bank?
lopburi3
Yes. The requirement for marriage extension is either 40k income or 400k in bank two months. Depending on the income an employment extension of stay might be available but not Thai wife.

PattayaPhom
If you are already in Thailand and can get a few days off. Try Penang, return train 2k and cheap rooms. If you are 'legally' married to a Thai you can a multi 1 year O Visa with about 100k in Thai bank....That gives you 17 months to save up to 400k for the extension. Border run required every 90 days but its an option.
lopburi3
Penang is not the place to go for a multi entry non immigrant O visa from any reports I have seen. KL will issue with 100k in bank and Savannakhet with no bank account proof.

KL will issue with 100k in bank and Savannakhet with no bank account proof. Still as of July this year, ID card of wife etc required. Fast track can be done for an extra 50 Ringetts...Provide 9am and receive back 2.30pm same day.
lopburi3
Interesting as they seem to change direction more often than a yo-yo.
PattayaPhom
They had a change of staff and it became difficult for a short period. Past 2 years almost, no problems for guys I know, however, must be legally married. Lily at New Banana in Chulia can be contacted with current requirements. KL may be a better choice for some.
