January 24, 200620 yr What do you reckon we should do to liven it up in here again? Bring back the tits I'll let you work out which ones like-mindedness posted only a minute later: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?sh...=621086&st=30
January 24, 200620 yr I have a feeling that Thaivisa has got more boring because of the explosion of new sub-forums that have been introduced. People don't meet up in a thread like they used to. Do you really think so? At the moment, there are 467 guests, 116 members 1 anonymous members reading ThaiVisa, and 8 User(s) are browsing the Bedlam forum. What can we do to liven it up? And... noted, Thetyim... Anyway, this is my 999th post, so, have to save my 1000th for a special occasion. Congratulations in advance. And SJ... you missed this topic... Taoism: shit happens Buddhism: if shit happens, it isn't really shit Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us? Atheism: I don't believe this shit

January 24, 200620 yr The posters mentioned are generally the attention seekers. The rest of us are posting away as usual. Not that many people really pay attention to attention seekers.

January 24, 200620 yr To keep a forum interesting you need a bit of controversy . What do you reckon we should do to liven it up in here again? More Dubya Bashing?...

January 24, 200620 yr I have just noticed that rdn has been banned. Can i ask why this has happened? I know i am a bit slow on the uptake but his last posts were in mid Dec. He tried to exert authority over admins and wouldn't withdraw. Lack of teamwork was also an issue. Not a discussion item now however, but you now know.

January 24, 200620 yr More Dubya Bashing?... It's generally considered that less Dubya bashing would make the place more interesting, in fact less US politics threads would go a very long way to making this area much more fun and interesting etc.
January 24, 200620 yr Did TM initiate the Poll? No, he didn't. One of his more vitriolic detractors did. Since RDN, TGS, The Moog and possibly TM have left, there just doesn't seem to be that community feeling on TV anymore. Have noticed that other quality posters don't seem to be around so much either. Haven't seen any posts by Taxexile or Autonymous Unit for a while. No dude, I started the poll since he was getting so much unwanted stick, so nothing unkind about it though some of the comment after were a bit 'off'. I voted for asset too by the way. TM and I also PMed each other having quite a laugh over his detractors. I think as much as I like the guy it has to be said after his suspsension he did spit his dummy and leave by his own accord, but thats his business. All I see on this board now is nwbies newbies newbies, with the scamp, rdn, TM and the moog gone recently is dos make a difference to the dynamic of the board and I rarely post here as much now (except in defence of my unkind polls!)
January 24, 200620 yr Wolfie:It's generally considered that less Dubya bashing would make the place more interesting, in fact less US politics threads would go a very long way to making this area much more fun and interesting etc. But Boon can't seem to break the habbit mate. I used to like reading Boon's posts, way back. But now he's become a parody of a parody of himself. I don't even know if thats a real thing, all I know is he now makes me double sad. I would use the ignore button, except that I'm a moderator and thats generally not the done thing.
January 24, 200620 yr No sweat Harry - hate to think I'm a parody of a parody etc! As I've mentioned in one of the other threads couple days ago, my intention was to take a sabbatical from the political arena as George et. al. are probably getting a bit weary of my crap here in Bedlam. Things were rolling along OK until TAWP got me and Spee going for the last time and that's probably a good thing. My response to Totster was the one and last re Galloway. It does get a bit stultifying to read inane threads such as we've seen in the past so I've been throwing all kinds of *stuff* up - not all political - to see if something can generate a discussion. Oh well..
January 24, 200620 yr stultifying I had to look that one up... Verb: stultify 1. Prove to be of unsound mind or demonstrate someone's incompetence "nobody is legally allowed to stultify himself" 2. Cause to appear foolish "He stultified himself by contradicting himself and being inconsistent" 3. Deprive of strength or efficiency; make useless or worthless "Their behaviour stultified the boss's hard work" Good description Boony. Taoism: shit happens Buddhism: if shit happens, it isn't really shit Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us? Atheism: I don't believe this shit
January 24, 200620 yr Author Thanks for the answer Doc So what's the story with TM? Maybe the rather unkind poll on whether he was an asset, or, a liability to TV has something to do with his absence. The result was about 50/50. There was some very hurtful remarks made by some people (you know who you are). If it had happened to me, I would have buggered off too. I will be the first one to stand up and say that Tm and myself clashed heads on more than one occassion, and needless to say i wasnt one of his biggest fans. But after several abuses thrown in both directions, Tm pmed me and we ended up discussing our problems with each other, and although we would never be best of friends we had decided that abusing each other wasnt doing anyone any good. I personally dont miss his posts but i know there are others who enjoyed his postings and for that reason it is a shame that he went and stopped contributing to the community. Because at the end of the day it takes all sorts to make a community and we cant like everyone all of the time. And as a tribute to Merton i havent used any smilieys in this post about him
January 24, 200620 yr Love em or hate em, I miss the real characters and think Bedlam is the poorer for their demise.
January 24, 200620 yr Without the 24/7 residents and attention whores like TM, Scampy and even The Moog, you can turn a lively place into a boring one. Like in a bar, kick out the regulars, and you kill the place. The Ladies Forum is now more interesting than Bedlam, that alone should give you a clue how "irrelevant' Bedlam has become without the "residents" and "controversy"
January 24, 200620 yr Love em or hate em, I miss the real characters and think Bedlam is the poorer for their demise. Yeah....Lucky Daleyboy is back...he is always good for an argu....debate.... Edited January 24, 200620 yr by gburns57au

January 24, 200620 yr Thanks for the reply TP, but searching all those posts is far too boring and I don't miss him that much

He tried to exert authority over admins and wouldn't withdraw. Lack of teamwork was also an issue. Not a discussion item now however, but you now know. Really? I thought it went down like this in the mod forum: RDN: Now all of my fellow mods must eat Marmite on their toast and I am not having it any other way! You got it? FTH: No, no, I dont think so. I like jam and I am sticking with that. RDN: Oh no your not! FTH: Oh yes I am! I just threw FTH's name on there but it could of been more of you that opposed his "Mandatory Marmite" credo. Ok, ok, I was just having a laugh.
