Hope someone can answer my queries.

Somehow information isn't as clear as I'm not those who are long stay here.

Due to my work commitments, I come to Bangkok often for project consultations.

As such, I do not hold any work permits and is here on those APEC travelling card which allow me to come in and out of Bangkok without much restrictions.

As my trips are too frequent, I decided to opt for renting a condo and also in due course, managed to get a post paid sim card. Again, I do not have any work permits and my passport is visa free, 3 months (due to APEC).

Now, I also paid for a used car in cash. Got everything that you all have mentioned... blue book, transfer form, ID..

The question is:

Can I really transfer the car to my name? If yes, what will be the procedure?

Proof of residency is only for people with long stay visa? or i fall into these categories?

Any help appreciated! :)

I have a better idea, send me the money, I will buy the car in my name, you can use it for 3 months and they leave it with me. Only a nice car, prefer a truck actually, see my avatar for a hint.

You can get proof of residence from your Embassy on any visa (and if I'm not mistaken from the Ministry of Foreign affairs).

Your individual situation is a little different from many who purchase a car and place it in their name on a tourist visa. However, I believe there are very few restrictions on car ownership in Thailand.

With proof of address / residence and your passport + APEC card you should be ok.

It can't harm to visit the Department of Land Transport and ask them for a definitive answer.

Thanks richard_smith237!

Guess this is the way to go... will do it tomorrow with the embassy.. if tourist visa is ok, then i believe any other visa is fine :)

Thanks for the advise...
