Big cheers from the crowd outside the Court (and my window!) a few minutes ago. Anyone know if a verdict was rendered?

Apparently Jatuporn confirmed his hunger strike.

Source, please?

Blue cheese and garlic really hits the spot for me - but it's a trifle overbearing with a tenderloin

Quit fittingly camped out beneath the elephant's vent

If you're referring to the Elephant Building, it a kilometer or so away from where they are 'camped out'.

It is nice to keep out of Thai politics, but can someone please explain the value of a hunger strike?

Logic say if you are in jail, the law doesn't gives a crap about you anyway. What does that prove except hurting your self. I see this in other countries as well.

Might be a bit less - and It's pointing the wrong way too, but pachydermic incontinence knows no bounds.

Sauce? My overactive imagination.

I have just heard that the real reason for the cheer was that the red shirts will be making yet another visit to hear Jeng's delayed hearing and that free transport, a thousand baht, and as much som tum as they can eat will be laid on.

The 'value' in the case of real political prisoners, for example the IRA & the Palestinian hunger strikers, is to draw attention to the fact that they were & are held without any formal trial & have no release date.

In the case of Jatuporn it's just verbal diaorrhea.

The Nation

BANGKOK: -- The Criminal Court Wednesday revoked bail for red shirt leader Yoswarit Chooklom on ground that he incited violence.

He was the only one among 19 red-shirt people whose bail was reviewed by the court.

He was sent to jail immediately. He is expected to appeal to overturn the cancellation.

why would the Bangkok council (or whatever it is BMA?) give them a permit for a demonstration?

And if they don't have one, why wouldn't the police clear them out?

Been wondering that myself, although the cops have said NOT to block traffic, or use loudspeakers. Today, the loudspeakers are not in use, but half the road (or more, actually) is blocked, and last night the speakers were EXTREMELY loud and clear - until 11PM.

(more big cheers just now)

Wind is picking up, usually means some rain is imminent. Does Red run?

RT @tulsathit: Court orders more bail conditions for 17 red leaders, who now must refrain from incitement and instigation. - @Tulip_Oum @NationChannel24

So their new bail condition is to really really (no crossing your fingers) really not commit the criminal crimes of incitement and instigation...

RED LEADERS

Court revokes bail of Jeng Dokjik

The Nation

30188850-01_big.jpg

BANGKOK: -- The Criminal Court decided on Wednesday to revoke the bail of a red leader after he was found having the intention to "create disturbance and harm" Constitution Court judges and their families by announcing the phone number of these people in front of redshirt gathering.

After the verdict, Yoswarit Chuklom aka Jeng Dokjik was escorted to a prison. The judges said it is unclear if the defendant is allowed to continue to be free on bail, he would create more disturbances or not.

Eighteen other redshirt co-leaders escaped Yoswarit's fate but were instructed not to create any disturbances or leave the kingdom.

Judges remarked that redshirt co-leader Jatuporn Promphan, also a defendant, were merely "rude" in his speech.

Looks like Jeng is the sacrificial lamb for now.

jatuporn's case is on ice pro tem.

He's been handed back to CEO Thaksin who must now name cabinet version 12 with additional know-nothings on the board.

Oh joy!
