Geez, I used to drive these things years ago in OZ , the question being , d's the driver get a box, I'll make a come back if they do.coffee1.gif

Are you Sure you drove them in Australia.

Let me guess, you have been hired as a consultant by the Yingluk Government on thier Hi Speed Rail Project. You drove something that is yet to be implemented in Australia and Yingluk is preparing the lunches for travelers on hers.

High-speed rail projects in Australia have been under investigation since the early 1980s, yet none has yet progressed past the planning stage.[2] The fastest trains currently in use in Australia have a maximum speed of 160 km/h (99 mph) (significantly below the internationally accepted definition for high-speed rail of 200 km/h (120 mph

Relative to Thailand's, Oz trains ARE hi-speed, if only because they rarely sit around waiting for the single track to clear.

lunch boxes for high speed trains

Look forward to taking a high speed dump on reaching destination. sad.png

remember the old sign

Passengers are reminded not to use the conveniences when the the train is at the station stationary.

May be a problem if the boxes are not stored correctly.

I suspect hi-speed trains would have septic tanks. Firstly, a turd hitting the sleepers at 200+ km/h would have a pretty dramatic splatter, possible leaving the underside like a used nappy and a bit on the nose.

Secondly, the venturi effect across the mouth of the drop pipe would lead to an unpleasant downdraft across the family jewels, and could even lead to larger persons being vaccuum stuck to the commode, at least until a station was reached. Innovations like a vaccuum breaker port are a bit high tech for Thai engineers.

High speed trains in Thailand??? Oh, oooh... I smell huge accidents happening considering Thailand's weak natural infrastructure caused by heavy rainy flood seasons, that soften the ground earth, necessary to carry the weight of the tracks AND the bullet trains... as well as I smell corruption and covering "Cheap Raw materials and make them look expensive, endangering the safety issues leading to a huuuuge catastrophe accident chain reactions...

Get your lunch boxes ready, it maybe your first and last trip to hell... cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

Ah, another way of commercialising another service which could provided by the locals. There's going to be a lot of haggling and back-handers floating around to assist the politicians as to whom gets the contract. Only in Thailand, could it take as long as it's going to take, to get the high-speed train running, to decide what is going to be in a lunch-box! Can only presume the ghosts of the Monty Python team and Spike Milligan, are residing in Thailand!

She can't be faulted for planning this, materially the train probably won't happen for another 10 years, but of course she is a visionary. I think planning a lunchbox is about her limit.

Actually, the lunchbox menu was decided upon by the Lunchbox Committee that she appointed last November.

After 9 months. 4 overseas research trips, and 430 million baht expended, she read aloud their ideas as hers.

Former British athlete Lynford Christie has been offered the role of lunchbox Supremo apparently.

Ahh , the famous "Linford's Lunchbox" line. Christie, another great Jamaican born sprinter. How does such a small nation of 3million people give rise to so many world class olympians and track and field greats?

Because unlike Thailand they were colonised? biggrin.png

Pre packed food on high speed trains in Thailand?

I would have thought a few stiff drinks would be more appropriate.

But not available between the hours 1400-1700.

Sorry no drinks are allowed in any vehicle at any time,.

The honest non corrupt guy that dished out all the multi billion baht contracts for the high speed rail link he must have something to do with the packed lunches and put them in bin bags did visitors or burglars not find some bin bags in his dining room at his house but they were not stuffed with food as I recall.

Some court judges may be chomping at the bit for those luchboxes.

Only if they are also involved in passing-out the contracts for actually building the new hi-so high-speed network. wink.png

Perhaps the PM might volunteer to oversee the project, just as her older brother did with the new airport, to avoid any unfortunate appearance of corruption in the process ?

Just so long as it wasn't subsequently delegated to the DPM. rolleyes.gif
