Emirates Now Flying To Washington D.C

Featured Replies

Got a mail this morning contents copied below

Beginning 12th September 2012, Emirates will commence daily non-stop service to Washington, DC from Dubai, making it our seventh destination in the United States.

Good news maybe for some of the expats here

Sweet. KAL is pretty dam_n good but an alternative going the other way opens stop-over possibilities!

Just what we need; more Muslims at IAD. Don't see how tht could help anyone going to BKK.

^ It would be IF we were in Dubai.

Well you can book from here all the way to Washington (here being Thailand) via Dubai

I would think it's far better than needing to fly via Europe if you want to visit the East Coast.

Thanks for alerting us Beano, I assume they, or other Middle Eastern carriers, also fly into New York.

I was doing some reading on this and seems that the flights are ill timed. Poor arrival and dep in Dubai and esp departure @ IAD. Was on one of those flyer forums - those guys really know their sh*t about flying, I don't fly for business anymore and don't bother keeping up with it.

1x a year is all I can put up with the TSA

Well all I can say is that your flyer forum guy got it wrong, a stopover of about 2.25 is not too much when flying from BKK to JFK, or 1.50 when returning, if you look through the available flights.

I think the main issue— as I recall was the arrival time to IAD as well as departure. What do you know about this? I need an arrival time early am and dep time after noon.

Do you know what the r/t fare will be?
