BANGKOK, Aug 25 - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Saturday thanked the Thai people for giving the opportunity for her government to work in first full year, while admitting that she sometimes felt tired but not discouraged.

The premier made remarks in her weekly televised programme "Government meets People" as her government completed its first year in office.

The programme was recorded earlier after the premier presided over the opening ceremony of the "OTOP Midyear 2012" which is being held from Aug 18 to 26.

Ms Yingluck said she felt grateful that the public gave an opportunity to her government to serve them.

She said the government has been working at its full capacity to solve the country's problems amidst some restrictions, including nationwide flooding and global economic slowdown.

She said her government is ready to consider advice and concerns from the public to re-adjust its works for the benefit of all the Thai people.

The prime minister, however, admitted that sometimes she felt tired due to the massive workload and her desire to see better things, but she was not discouraged. She said there are some conditions beyond their control which affect the government's working targets.

Ms Yingluck added that today the government organised an event at Ratchamangkala Stadium to show its first year achievements. Ten policies will be shown to the public to let them know how they can use their rights and access to capital sources.

Similar events would also be held nationwide.

Another event which is being held from August 18-26 is the OTOP Midyear 2012 at Impact Arena to boost value of Thai products.

Ms Yingluck said the OTOP products are divided into four categories. The first group is high quality products which meet international standards. The government will help promote these products and their export business.

The second is skilled products, and the government will focus on patent registration as they are part of Thai wisdom and know-how.

The third group are products which need more support from the government to help add value to products, while the last group is easily-made products which can be sold in local communities.

The premier said her government will find more channels for the entrepreneurs, provide them more knowledges and distribution channels with state mechanism, including organisation of the OTOP event in Thailand and other neighbouring countries. (MCOT online news)

Tired of all those phone calls to her brother, with him mandating what she should do, say, and whom to appoint to every post.

LMAO Google Ads show a site offering flights, how apt is that?

Mine is showing a Lawyer...legal trouble in the future for Yingluck?.

I can see it a bit exhausting avoiding parliament sessions and calling up Chalerm to tell him he is in charge of what ever issue arises. Also making sure monies are going in the proper personal accounts, can be rigorous.

Having just returned from Ratchamangkala Stadium the entire spectacle was not a triumphant pat on the back as I had hoped, but basically banks, and government agencies and car dealerships trying to get people to borrow more through car and housing loans, and lots of Thais were dutifully lining up to take the money, house papers and ID card in hand. So a successful event .....yes?

Because it is fairly obvious that the entire PTP economic strategy is to encourage people to borrow as much as possible to finance domestic growth to give the illusion of success.

You can all make fun of her all you want. But you try shopping on a unlimited budget.wink.png Just when you have every thing they come out with the new and improved and back on the merry go round you go.rolleyes.gif

Then to top it all off she has this big brother trying to run her life. He kept bothering her until he finally decided to get the people to do it for him. Now he just calls in to the cabinet meetings and does it himself..clap2.gif

You people have no idea of what she goes through.

For instance should she get this blouse to go with her brown jacket. It might not go with her blue jacket.

Or weather or not to get really high heals or just normal ones to go with the chiffon ensemble.

That sounds familiar. How long did it take in the US for the subprime mortgage bomb to build up and explode ? 8-9 years ? So within a decade.
