Burma will begin introducing services for international bank cards as a follow-up to a program for local  citizens that is set to launch next month, according to a report by Xinhua. Cards issued to Burmese nationals by the Myanmar Payment Union (MPU) will allow them to withdraw money from ATMs operated by local participating banks and buy goods at some designated stores. By early 2013, foreigners will be able to use cards issued by China UnionPay, Japan Credit Bureau and Visa, officials at the Myanmar Cooperative Bank told Xinhua on Monday.
