When you overlooked a rule of etiquette, you’re being rude.

When your boss skips a few rules, he’s being original.

When you’re out of the office, you’re wandering around.

When your boss is out of the office, he’s on business.

When you’re on a day off sick, you’re always sick.

When your boss is a day off sick, he must be very ill.

When you apply for leave, you must be going for an interview.

When your boss applies for leave, it’s because he’s overworked.

Years ago (many more years than I would care to admit) I worked as a chef.

I eventually became Head Chef, and following the example of my predecessors, I was master of micro-management (and alcohol consumption and bad temper).

With this in mind, I re-read the list:

When you take a long time, <deleted> hurry up!

When Chef takes a long time, work harder IDIOT!

When you don’t do it, <deleted> hurry up!

When Chef doesn’t do it, YOU! BOY! <deleted> DO THIS!

When you make a mistake, do it right you <deleted> idiot.

When Chef makes a mistake, Chef doesn't make mistakes!

When doing something without being told, Just do as I told you IDIOT!

When Chef does the same thing, <deleted> off, IDIOT!
