Anyone Looking For A House To Rent On The Darkside?

For reasons I won't go into, I am moving shortly and will vacate a house which has probably got one of the best lease deals you could find on the Darkside.

It is a 3 bed house, fully furnished with a decent sized swimming pool and very pleasant garden, literally 2 minutes walk from Mabprachan Lakeside, in a very friendly, well maintained village.

The house is available for 24K per month, which considering it has a good sized pool, is about 10k below the going rate for such properties, even more so as it is in a 'premium' location.

I have been very happy here for two years and can thoroughly recommend it.

There is nothing in it for me, and I'm really posting this as I know there are always a number of folk looking for rentals on the Darkside and I'm just giving you the 'thumbs up'.

Anyone interested can PM me.

Sorry folks, the house is gone.

There is another, 4 -bed house nearby, with a nice pool and 2 en suite beds for around 32K per month. Anyone interested can PM me.

As regards mosquitoes - yes there are a few in the evenings, but I haven't had a mosquito bite in years so not sure how it would affect those more susceptible. When my family comes to say , they spray themselves with 'off' and they are fine.

As regards to not being a 'prime ' location - well I guess it depends very much on what you are looking for. If you want to live on The Darkside and you have 4 wheel transport, then I can't think of a more perfect spot, with pleasant walks and picnic areas along the nearby lake; shops (incl a 7/11), restaurants and bars within walking distance. A very pleasant, semi-rural area, charming Thais who don't regard you as an ignorant cash-rich tourist, but less than 5 mins drive to the 'action' and 15 mins to Central Pattaya.

Also only 5 mins drive to the Bangkok/Rayong highway.

But each to his own...

You must really haul ass to get from way out there to Central Pattaya in 15 minutes, hell it takes me 20 to 25 minutes from soi Khao Noi of that 2 minutes is from front door to the bypass road the rest is the fookin traffic once you hit Suk road.

A bit off topic but I did it from the Brass House in Pong to Holiday Inn North Pattaya in exactly 20 minutes on Saturday evening....I was somewhat amazed I have to say.

You haven't looked properly. Apart from probably the largest 7/11 on the Darkside within walking distance, there's loads of local shops - but if you're looking Big C and Lotus hypo-stores - no there ain't none of them , but there two Lotus metros within 5 mins drive.

Of course we drive into Pattaya for our BIG shopping, but as I say plenty of local shops and two large fresh food markets within 5 mins drive, plus any number of smaller ones.

Enough for you?

Maybe not....ermm.gif

From the pong side of the Darkside, depending exactly where you are, you can get to Chaiyapornwithi (2340)in a couple of minutes or so, then go west until you cross the new motorway /expressway extension that goes to North Pattaya.

This will take approx 5 mins from the northern tip of the lake, then take the slip road onto the expressway, drive either straight down to Suk at North Pattaya and turn left along Suk to Pattaya klang, (another 5 mins drive) or turn left onto the local road/bi pass and drive to Siam CC crossroads, just east of Pattaya Klang .

Either way, provided you are not driving at the height of the rush hour, the journey from the end of the end of the expressway to Klang would be around 5 mins.

Average total journey time from my village to Klang - 15 mins - give or take, without exceeding 80 kms/hour except for the very short motorway stretch.

I agree its a total different kettle of fish from Soi Kow Noi - which I personally would not wish to live on or near.

Where is the dark side? I have seen houses near enough on the beach for 30k a month that were very attractive. I pay 14k a month for a near enough brand new house 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom in a newly built village in bang saray.

Yes that's a good price. Do you have your own pool? That always jacks up the rental price.

Bang Sare is nice, and i often go there for a meal and take the air,but personally, I wouldn't want to live there.

It's 'horses for courses' I guess..

BTW, from where I live, I can take a short cut along Siam CC golf course road, hit the Rayong highway and make my way down to Bang Sarae, very quickly, completely bi-passing Pattaya and Na Jomtien.

  • 1 month later...

I live in the area that is in question, and I like it. I dont know the estate where this house is at, but at my estate, its very quite, no traffic, (except Soi Siam). Just depends on what your interested in. Me, I dont do any farang shopping and if I needed to go to a bar, it wouldnt be in Pattaya. I couldnt stand the noise in most of the Pattaya area, so im happy here. To each his own!
