Not too dissimilar to Anfield ( on a rainy day-- hard to keep warm ), Toxteth and the poll tax riots.

I suppose you would have had snipers on the roofs of Liverpool, given the chance.

Can't you find more graphic images ?

Very dissimilar to Anfield on a rainy day Phil. I think you may have been away from blighty for too long. You are funny! You cry foul and blame Abhisit for the whole shabang, and then when you are faced with images that prove a contrary point you make a joke of them. What a wheeze ay Phil. I hope you find the graphic photo's you requested and supplied by Rubi to be more to your taste. Are they funny as well? I bet you think the one with the soldier who has lost his left arm is a right laugh.

Just seen your latest post

And your reason for posting the picture is to make what point ??

Are you totally losing it? Not many minutes ago you said

Can't you find more graphic images ?

So you also suggest the army were throwing grenades at their own soldiers.

Stranger and stranger.

I hope this is not deemed too gruesome

Same soldier hit by grenade scrapnel, not sure left arm will ever be right again. Of course I have to post Jatuporn again as well, for contrast

Army grenade perchance ??

Sad picture and horrible event, but who ???............etc.

And your reason for posting the picture is to make what point ??

1. Maybe an army grenade stolen or smuggled

2. who? well, this may surprise, but I do not know the name and ID of the soldier in the picture, neither the shoesize of the perpetrators

3. I post because you asked

4. Anymore suggestions that obviously it was all the army's fault?

Sorry, my mistake.

Only rubber bullets.

Makes a lot of sense to put a marksman on the roof, give him a guy to help him sight, binocs and then arm him with rubber bullets...........

10 cc had a song about it.

Yes ... that's normal for the TVF red shirts supporters. It's a bit like the "but the yellow shirts" excuse.

Anything but accepting that the red shirts were armed.

You're utterly, but really utterly correct in pointing out the contrast between your and my photo's.

Thank you, dear phiphidon wai.gif

OK, they were armed, all 100,000 of them , or however many, you choose the figure.

One arm to the left and one to the right.

happy now ??

Now all that needs to happen is for you to accept that some of those arms were holding guns and throwing grenades.

Try to beat up a police officer in England like in the photo you replied to! At least 2 year in ......... prison! This doesn't happen at Anfield.

To give you what you asked for? blink.pnghuh.png

There's no pleasing some people I suppose.

.

Well, for that argument to be true, Gentleman Jim would have had to provide the more graphic images as it was he who was asked.

I would imagine Philw meant that remark as a counterpoint to rubl already having lowered the tone of the thread by posting graphic images the post before to make some point or other.

Maybe military injuries are different to civilian injuries, I don't know, though there are certainly more civilian injuries to choose from.

Well if it was me that was asked and you think i should have answered then why are you answering for PhilW when Rubi was replying to him? Is this a double standard red kind of thing? Why do you need to imagine what PhilW meant?

Actually, that "argument" is absolutely true.

The open public thread is different than a personal message.

If phil wanted only Gentleman Jim to specifically respond with more graphic images, he should have PM'd him.

Making his statement public made it available for the public to respond. ;)

This sort of thing seems to come up with great regularity whenever the Govt is trying to divert attention from something.

Like for instance the finance minister telling lies of whatever colour.

Didnt the same thing happen when another Debeauty PM was accused of stealing land from a temple?

Its all about timing, history, if you like, I know it's not your strong point but bear with me.

Rubl posted a graphic image first. Then you come along with your photo montage of dramatic 'bad man' red shirt photos. Philw jokingly/sarcastically asked you if you didn't have more graphic images to post.

In a seperate reply to rubl, continuing his discussion with him, philw asked what was the point he was trying to make with his graphic photos.

And then buchholz appears.

He decides to answers on your behalf and muddies the waters. I then explained where buchholzs "argument" was at fault. True to form, no doubt he will never accept that fact.

No double standards there, just "call and response".

(If you have a problem with me answering a post on a public forum,

1) you should also question buccholzs reply

2) keep your "private" posts private by using the PM system.)

As I'm not replied to, but seeing my name being used without my explicit approval, may I be excused to reply in order to make some minor corrections to the PPD timeline wai.gif

GJ was the first to posts pictures. I posted a few more. Then philw asked for more graphical in a reply to GJ. My bad to understand philw seemed to ask for blood so I posted a wounded soldier and a laughing Jatuporn. Next you PPD post an excellent contrast with a corpse covered with blanket with red-cross and a Monk talking to a respectfully listening Abhisit.

Now the pictures posted by GJ are mostly from the 19th or earlier in the 'peaceful protest', mine from 19th and 20th(ZEN). Can you tell me when your pictures were made ?

May I already thank you for an answer which I await in eager, respectful anticipation ?wai.gif

Didn't know you were copyrighted, I know you're a computer nerd but who do you think you are. Apple?

My timing of the specific events is not wrong.

Your first photo was of the soldier hit by a grenade along with vandergrift (this incident seems to appear often in your posting - could it be bonding with the dutch sounding surname, there's plenty of other killed and injured journalist photos you could use as well?) and graphic.

Your second was of the same situation and graphic so no real change or point apart from juxtaposing a laughing jatuporn - kind of like propaganda isn't it? .

So I upped the ante with no need to go for gore to get my message across.

Despite your pretense not to recognise the unfortunate victim of the military, I am pretty well convinced you knew that was an image of Kamolkate, or Kate, the medic killed at Wat Pathum Wanaram, the "safe haven" after the red shirt leaders had all surrendered and the protest was ended.

I juxtaposed it with a picture of abhisit. He apparently was moved to tears after these events but it is very difficult to find a picture of abhisit looking contrite let alone tearful.

The picture of Kamolkate was obviously taken on the 19th May. The one of abhisit was published in the Nation on July 22nd 2010, two months after the bloodshed. Apparently it was taken during a press conference announcing that he had won an award for his use of the thai language...........

Mind you, he is known for being good at talking..................

"call and response"

cheesy.gif too funny

the call went out for damage control on phil's inconsistent remarks and you responded

.

It may work like that with your peers but I took it upon myself to answer. It wasn't a PM as has already been pointed out. I think "call and response" is a perfect description of some of the posts on here - Think 12 bar blues.

PPD are you trying to say that the ensuing rioting and fires in Bangkok and provincial centres were not part of the protest? Is this another example of "red thought"?

In a public forum, may I also just post around a bit?

PPD: "Rubl posted a graphic image first. Then you come along with your photo montage of dramatic 'bad man' red shirt photos."

I: GJ was the first to posts pictures. I posted a few more."

PPD: "Your first photo was of the ... ..."

So, now the timeline slightly shifted forward no longer included GJ photo's

BTW

GJ photo's #295, 21:05

rubl #297, 21:38

philw's request: #298, 21:39

rubl: #299, 21:50

ppd: #306, 22:54

GJ, rubl - topic related pictures, ppd - mix for the fun of it

PS I accept that the photo of the dead person may be Ms. Kamolkate Akahad, not easy to say from a partial picture

I posted a long reply to this but it has disappeared into the ether. I am not about to repeat it so the answer is

Yes of course, the ensuing rioting and fires were not part of the protest. What is the opposite of red thought? No thought whatsoever?

Yes.

Well, obvious you are not less rude with me being Dutch biggrin.png

ADD: to be fair I'm used to be called 'rude'. Just like Johnny moved to John, I moved from Rudi to Ruud. Like those famous football players Gullit/v. Nistelrooij. Once I got into contact with native English speakers I moved back to 'Rudi' wai.gif

'Red thought' in one sense is ignoring the obvious - like that the rioting and burning were a planned part of the protest from its inception. Speech after speech ad nauseum promised mayhem and arson if their goals weren't achieved. Doesn't quite fit with the "peaceful protest" BS you espouse though, does it?
