Rimmer Posted September 6, 2012 Share Posted September 6, 2012 One dead, one injured as truck slams into Gold Shop close to Chonburi City CHONBURI:--The owner of a Gold Shop was killed after an 18-wheel truck slammed into her shop causing a fire on Wednesday afternoon. A full response from fire fighters, rescuers and Police was necessary and the scene was controlled by Police Colonel Pisit, Deputy Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police. The crash occurred in Baan Suan sub-district close to Chonburi City and was witnessed by many local business operators and members of the public who explained to Police that the truck broke heavily as traffic lights at a nearby junction turned from green to red. The truck driver, who was injured but escaped before authorities arrived, could not keep control of the large vehicle which was full of rubble taken from a nearby construction site. Police were first to arrive and blocked off the area and allowed only rescue personnel in first to deal with the fire, which was caused by exploding NGV Gas tanks on the truck.
