Hey

I have been trying to find the Embassy's website, in vain

My question is as follows

My Thai partner and I, Schengen country, went to Israel on a vacation two years ago and plan to do the same kind of trip on a more regular basis.

Knowing that we have entered the equivalent a Civil Union a while ago, is anyone aware of the existence of a category of visa easing the procedure or granting multiple entry on giving a longer length of time?

Thanks

Whatever "the equivalent of a Civil Union" may be, your Thai partner, whatever you may mean with "partner", will have to apply for a visa the same way as if he/she were not your "partner" in "the equivalent of a Civil Union"

Sorry about the " equivalent": as I am French, the exact term is PACS which is the British Civil Union.

This being said, I was under the impression that Israel recognised Civil Partnership in the same way as it recognises marriage: does this mean that even if we were married the application would still be treated the same way as if the applicant was single ? Or, although it is not determinant, would the fact be taken in consideration?

btw, israel doesnt recognize all marriages; depends on who u are. im married to a thai which is a civil marriage but as a jewish israeli marrying a non jew, we couldnt marry here, and marriage in thailand was only acknowleged after documentation ; not an apostile. as for same sex couples, shaky ground, depends on who is in political power at the time...

when were u last here, where did u go, how did u get the visa for your partner then?

Hello Bina

Thanks for the reply

I think I am moving on the shaky ground but they seem to be quite open from what I have heard lately

We went to Israel in 2009, one month in Tel Aviv, with a couple of trips to Jerusalem and Dead Sea

There was no problems getting the visa but was only given 30 days, therefore, alhough we would have liked to get back there a month or so later, it was not possible

This is why I would like to plan ahead
