Why would China care about fake goods leaving its borders?

Its all good for the Chinese economy.

I remember someone of the Thai Ministry of Culture saying: Corruption did not exist in Siam before the Chinese came into the country...

Funny you should mention that, we went on a shopping trip into Burma via Mae Sai 6 weeks ago and when I came back in they asked me if I had any C.D's. I didn't have any on me but my wife had a dozen or so along with a lot of other stuff. They don't check or question the Thai's tho they just walk straight through.

Those dam_n foreigners have spoilt the country.thumbsup.gif

"Pajchima said trademark violation and counterfeit products from China had greatly affected Thai businesses. Fake goods from China can be freely bought in most markets and temple fairs across Thailand".

A threat to the Thai, pirating industry I guess.

Pretty interesting that they don't mention Rolex, Prada, licensed software or any of the products from the US or the EU.. The Thai's are only worried about the products they themselves counterfeit. They don't want China encroaching on their own lucrative market.

That's like asking the Wolf to tend to the sheep! Amazing Thailand. Asking the godfather of copyright piracy for advice on controlling the same in their country.

I'm reminded of traders in Phuket protesting at their right to sell counterfeit goods.
