Crushed Rock For Shady Garden Area

Featured Replies

I am looking for some crushed rock, or larger stones for an area that is heavily shaded & nothing will grow there.

The stones I have found are in small bags at 50baht each, I estimate I need about 200 bags (10,000baht).

There is no way I am paying this, there must be a supplier somewhere in Pattaya, my garden guy says he doesn't know any.

Has anyone struck this problem or know a better solution.

I am in your hands people.

Thanks in anticipation,

Rob

Get some granite from the building supplies shop thats what we use under the trees, cost around 600 baht a cube meter, you can use some paving stones or decorative stones to break it up if you want.

The river stones are indeed expensive,I have been looking to buy them in bulk for ages bu couldn't find them at a better price.

I also ended up using the granite stones like rimmer says, but instead of bying them at thieving prices in the Pattaya hardware stores, I went to the quarries in Chonburi and bought the best qualty washed granite stones at 2700 Baht for 10 qubic meter delivered to Pattaya.

Thats sounds like what I am after, can you tell me where you went to get it.

In Chonburi City, or around Pattaya, directions would be appreciated.

The quarries are on the outskirts of Chonburi, left and right of the highway just before the entrance of the highway #7.There are many,go visit them and choose your stones as they have different qualities, sizes and shades as well as the price might slightly differ from one company to another.Don't bother if you not ready to purchase a full truckload approx 10 Cubic meters.

Great,

Thanks for the help, I was stumped & after visiting many nurseries, was getting frustrated by the attitude of the people.

This is another reason to be involved in a forum.

There is a weed barrier fabric you can put down under the stone that will let water through, but will stop weeds from coming up. Without it, you'll still get weeds.
