tebee
Now given the current status and weather in Thailand I would have expected it to be impossible to buy flood insurance. But my wife tells me she has just bought 30,000 baht worth of flood insurance for 1,499 baht - we live just to the north of Bangkok proper and had 1.5m of floodwater for 7 weeks last year. Is this likely to be a genuine offer or some sort of con? Tom
stevenl
No way I would accept this risk as an underwriter.
madmitch
Which company is it with? Or is it a Government backed scheme? 5% rate, once in twenty year payout? With a 30k limit total loss every time. Without reading the terms and conditions I can't give a 100% recommendation but it seems a good deal for the customer and, like stevenl, no way would I touch this as an underwriter. Theboy
Sounds more than usual. Talk to Peter over at AA insurance Brokers as they can include it with your property insurance [email protected]
topt
I was told by AA that no insurer was offering cover against flood - Cover on my policy just renewed is limited now to maximum 1,000 baht in total and I live nowhere near any past or recently flooded area. edit for typo Edited September 18, 2012 by topt
