I'm looking for suggestions on the best way to travel from Ubon Ratchathani Airport to Mukdahan. I know there are private bus/van services that ply the route but my flight arrival time doesn't remotely coincide with their pick-up times. So I guess I would have to get to the Ubon R bus terminal from the airport and catch a bus to Mukdahan from there. Suggestions on how to get to the bus terminal from the airport and what bus to take to Mukdahan are most welcome. I really want to avoid those government buses that stop multiple times if I can. Thanks.

there are public taxi's (metered) just outside of the Ubon airport perimeter wall exit/entrance gate (500 meter), the public taxi's are not

allowed to operate or pickup inside the airport due in part of private licensed transportation vehicles.(only drop off's are permitted)

If you choose to acquire a private licensed car, you should ask what the price is to the bus terminal- on the norm, it was

about 100 baht , whilst the public metered taxi is around 60baht to the bus terminal. (distance is about 5-6 klm)

once at the bus terminal, there is a green colored bus; Sahamirt Ubon which runs almost hourly to Mukdahan. There are

choices of bus classes on Sahamirt such as Aircon, non aircon, express, etc; and the cost should not exceed 150 baht to Muk.

Also, Sahamirt has a van service which runs twice a day to Mukdahan-Ubon and it cost 105 baht.

Just the sort of info I was looking for. Thanks!

If you have not already booked your flight to Ubon. It might be worth flying to Nakhon Phanom (KOP) as both Nok Air and Airasia have a fly and drive to Mukdahan. Between 1100 Baht and 1500 each way. If not then try emailing http://savanvegas.com/ and see what time the VIP busses are (post back what you find out).
