September 18, 201213 yr On this mornings internet edition of The Nation there is a photo of a woman either injured or being held down by two armed men. She is laying face down in the middle of a highway with her hands clasped behind her head and being held by one of those armed men, with his foot holding down her arm. Is this woman a prisoner or is she injured? There is absolutely no caption with the photo, and the story goes on to discuss the program of insurgent surrender. Is this woman lying face down and wearing a dress an insurgent? The last para and sentence in the article goes on to mention a paint ball exercise that was very valuable that was held at an army installation. Is this part of the paintball exercise. Why , Nation, no caption ? A news photo and article should not raise more questions than it answers. You know what you are trying to get across , but the reader does not...... you need to give complete information. Edited September 18, 201213 yr by Gonzo the Face

September 18, 201213 yr A picture speaks a thousand words, but as demonstrated by this thread, its up to the viewer to decide what the words are.
September 18, 201213 yr ^^ As guesthouse said, individual interpretation. To me, that is a male being detained, foot on an arm and hands clasped behind his neck.
