No Show , Does Someone Really Pay The Fees?

Featured Replies

On the quatar airways website I read that the charge high fees for no show not join the flight without telling!

In most eu country's this kind of no show fees are not allowed by national law!

No show 'fee' is only the penalty taken from any eventual refund or reissue.

There are other optional fees such as cancellation, change of date.... You don't assume that the are going to send a bill to your home for these. :)

I missed a flight one time and forgot to call and cancel. I lost the entire amount I had paid. They said it was a no show and that I hadn't called to cancel or change. It was a nonrefundable ticket.

Not sure what national law you are referring, or which country. You may be referring to an IATA rule that even a 100% NON REF ticket the taxes must be returned. They will impose a penalty for a no show that will most likely be close to the tax amount previously collected. Penalty's have been around since the beginning of time, when you "Accept the Terms" you're bound.

With technology being what it is today, there really shouldn't be no-shows simply call before departure and pay a change fee.
