Innocent Ipad Kidnapped in Pattaya

Pattaya: Leaving valuables in full view in your car may not be the smartest move.

PATTAYA:--A Mercedes is considered to be a luxury car here and, as such, attracts a lot of attention, sometimes unwelcome, as a mother found out in Pattaya on Wednesday.

After picking up her children from school, the 51 year old parked her Merc in the car park at Tesco Lotus in South Pattaya, as she went inside with her children to shop for her own business in Jontien.

Kids being kids, there was an iPad left in the car, and local hoodlums saw it too, as they “checked out” the luxury car.

It was too tempting and the next minute they had smashed a window and stolen it, along with 5000 baht in cash. Sadly for her, the vehicle was parked out of range for the security cameras, which leave the police with little to work with. Lets hope she has insurance.

I have noticed on several occasions over the last several months, a teenage boy loytering arround the Tesco Lotus in South Pattaya car park, walking around inbetween the cars looking at the people and looking into the cars as they are parked up, I always make sure nothing of value is left in the car.

I am sure if the supermarket security play back their tapes they will see this suspicious charater on earlier videos.

Carpark staff seem to ignore him even though he was acting very susspiciously.

In a lot of cases, the smaller windows are more expensive to replace than the larger ones. Windshields can often be the cheapest window to replace.
