Amateur Footballer dies on the pitch in Sattahip

SATTAHIP;--An Amateur Football died 1 hour into a friendly game at a football field in Sattahip District on Thursday afternoon.

Police were called to the Nongtakien Playing Field at 4.30 pm following reports of the sudden death of a footballer and were confronted by a distressing scene as the wife of the deceased man was sobbing uncontrollably next to the body of her husband, Khun Tamarong aged 39, a local food vendor who would play football with friends at the end of his working day. Fellow players reported seeing him collapse 1 hour into the game and he was heard complaining of a headache moments earlier.

Police noticed a cut above his right eyebrow but expect this injury to have been sustained as he fell on the pitch. Efforts were made to revive him as his wife, Khun Nittaya aged 39 looked-on as CPR proved unsuccessful.
