Overstay Fine For Tourist Visa?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if there is an overstay fine for overstaying the 28 day tourist visa? Is it considered a red flag for future visas/entries? Thanks.

500 Baht a day to a maximum of 20,000 Baht. No real issues with re entry they just put a stamp in your passport. You do though risk arrest and detention if you are stopped before you reach the airport or border to leave.

THat applies to Thai VIsas. I believe the OP is asking about Myanma ones.

I haven't heard from people overstaying their Myanmar visa, but would recommend not to do so.

One problem which you may have, is getting accepted at guesthouses in Yangon.some guesthouses WILL NOT accept you with an overstayed visa as a result of pressure (and possibly ludicrous fines) from the government.

There is an overstay charge - but was years ago when I had to pay it. I seem to think $8.00 a day or something around that. Maybe some of the more frequent visitors can clarify..
