I'm off to get my Imm B working visa next week from Laos. I'm about to start a teaching job.

Problem is my school hasn't got a clue what documents are needed, as I'm the 1st teacher they've had there.

Can anyone give me the latest full list of documents required?

Thanks in advance.

Good luck. I just went thru the process myself and believe me you are in for a headache. Follow the link posted by digital___________.

There will be documents needed that are not necessarily on any website. I was refused my last Non B, in Vientiane because one document was missing, a paper from the local Min. of Ed. office. I finally got it, but if it were not for my Thai g/f also a teacher I would have been F______. I do not know if this is because it is a private school, and everthing is in Thai, not much help.

Working for schools previously, who did the paperwork I never saw any letter from the local Min. of Ed. confirming that I had a job. They wanted to hassle me because my passport has the short form of my name Alex, whereas my degrees/diplomas all have my full first name. Using the excuse that black people from Nigeria and other countries are using false documents. It is pretty obvious I am white, with a Canadian Passport. This was an insult to me and all nationalities.

Then when you go for your extension in 90 days you will need a letter/waiver in lieu of a Thai Teachers License, or a Thai Teachers Licence from the Min. of Ed. in Bangkok and that can take a month. I sent the documents last week. Immigration will not extend the visa without this. So I was on 2 tourist visas waiting for the schools documents and could not get the W.P. without the Non B visa in my passport. Kalasin MOE. (my last school 5 month contract would not supply this letter for my extension after 90 days).

They would not even give me the receipt to show the Thai Embassy in Vientiane, who were aware of my situation.

So I started work in May. Got the Non B a month ago and the W.P last week. This is September.

So technically I was not working legally, although the paper was in the works. This is Thailand.
