BANGKOK, 24 September 2012: Thai AirAsia announced it would start offering fares that include ferry transfers to five famous islands in the south competing head on with Nok Air that initiated the same offer last year.

Currently the starting island fares of Thai AirAsia are cheaper than those of Nok Air.

Both Thai Air Asia and Nok Air make the booking process easy for customers. You choose the island destination online. The booking system will then automatically select the nearest airport to the island and show fares and travel itinerary. Upon arrival at the airport, a bus transports passengers to the ferry pier. The same service works for the return trip from island to airport.

Thai AiAsia’s new services dubbed Thailand’s Easy Island Transfers covers five islands in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea – Samui, Phangan, Phi Phi, Lanta and Lipe islands.

Transfers to Samui, Phangan and Phi Phi Islands will start from 15 October, while transfers to Lanta and Lipe Islands will be available from 1 November. Bookings are now open.
